The Blue Elk Inn is a unique and comfortable inn in the Bavarian Village of Leavenworth, WA. Enjoy the seasonal pool in a beautiful garden setting or the outdoor hot tub and saunas year-round. Bikes are available during the summer months for guest use (free of charge) and most rooms are dog-friendly (for a small add'l fee). The inn has 27 hotel rooms and many of these feature fireplaces and balconies. In addition to the hotel rooms, our inn also offers four very spacious family suites. Each suite includes a kitchenette, dining room, and living room. The inn is located about 3/4 mile from downtown Leavenworth, which can be accessed via park path. A hot buffet breakfast is included in all stays and provided 7 days a week. Free parking is also provided for all guests.

We stayed in the cascade suite with eight people and a big dog. Walked in to essentially a three bedroom, two bathroom apartment. Large living room, large bedrooms, kitchen and dining area, FREE laundry in the unit with laundry soap provided. Dishes and cookware provided. Dishwasher with dish pods provided. The couch was extremely comfortable. The bed was like laying on a cloud. Even the two chairs in the living room were comfortable. I was absolutely blown away by the place. Breakfast both days was provided and good quality. Decent options, even for my lactose intolerant child. Dog treats and waste bags are provided at the front. It took us about 20min to walk to the main street in town, and that's with three little ones under 10.
I'm so happy with my stay here. Absolutely worth it.

We spent 3 nights at the Blue Elk Inn in early May. The staff were all welcoming and helpful, even allowing us to check in a bit early since our room was ready. Sunday, the town was still packed with people, but with the secluded location, we heard no road or crowd noise. As others have said, that bed is pure heaven! It just cradles your body and you awaken with no stiffness. Breakfasts were plentiful with fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs, and options for carbs. We had our early morning coffee sitting on our balcony, watching the sunrise over the hills/forests to the East, with the resident Swallows flying close and even landing on the balcony railings to enjoy the warmth with us as the day began. So peaceful! We had only two suggestions—an additional blackout shade for the door to the balcony(it had wooden blinds) and more light at the sink/vanity. Perhaps a portable, lighted makeup mirror? We will definitely return once those Summer crowds are gone.

We left the Blue Elk Inn this morning after a wonderful two-night stay. It is definitely a hotel we'll visit again. The staff is quiet, and available, but they leave you alone unless you need help. In fact, they don't enter you room during your stay unless you ask for fresh towels while you are out. We solved that problem by asking the young man cleaning another room if we could raid the cart and he agreed. The room was spacious, squeaky clean and very quiet at all hours of the day. We enjoyed the hot tub, but there are also two saunas to use. The pool is closed for the winter. Breakfast is included in your room price and we think it is one of the best free hotel buffet breakfasts we've ever had. Everything was fresh: eggs, sausage, melon, strawberries, pancakes, and french toast. The one issue for us is that the room was just a bit too warm and we couldn't find a thermostat, so we solved the problem by opening the window. A nice feature with the Smart TV is that you can sign in the streaming site you use at home and your favorites come right up. We highly recommend.

With its Bavarian kitsch and elk-themed thrift store paintings BEI is cute and fun, if not elegant.
Pros: nice back deck, pool, saunas, and hot tubs. The continental breakfast had tortillas, chorizo, and multiple hot sauces (yay! Something other than waffles!) and no gross disposable plates.
The cons: the air conditioner sounded like an angry dinosaur and the blue light from the hotel lights lit up our room. More annoying: the bookings are all done with dynamic pricing so the price for the same accommodation type can vary absurdly depending on demand, making coordinating group bookings tricky; whoever books at peak demand is likely to feel cheated and resentful if they’re paying $200 more per room. The hotel is clean and convenient but the $370/night price tag for our booking felt silly for the type of place this is. It’s fun, in a goofy/retro manner, but hardly the sort of elegant, romantic getaway I might expect for the pricing.

I won’t lie, when I booked a dog friendly hotel I was prepared to stay somewhere a little dingy, or at least outdated so that dogs destroying things wouldn’t be an issue. So I was taken aback by how beautiful the hotel was. The room was very modern and well decorated, the outside is classic Leavenworth with fresh, gorgeous flowers in the window boxes, and the grounds were manicured with loads to do! The pool was very clean and had tubes to borrow, and the back garden area had multiple fire pits, loungers, two saunas, horseshoes, and corn hole. Finally, I had no idea I booked a room with a whole patio with an outdoor sofa, private fire pit, and gorgeous view of the mountains. This was great as we were able to leave our door open and our toddler had loads of space to run around and get fresh air. Finally, breakfast had assigned times (you choose the time you’ll likely go), which meant the food was fresh and lines were short with plenty of seating. After breakfast was over, coffee and water remained all day to access, and the coffee was really good with a couple of options for different roasts. Tea was also available all day.
The only thing I would’ve liked to have available would’ve been beer/wine/cider to purchase. Our toddlers bedtime meant we were confined to our patio space pretty early in the evening, and a glass of wine or a cold cider would’ve been excellent, BUT this was easily remedied by a quick walk to a convenience store a block away.
All in all, we had a great experience. Staff was very helpful and available, everything was very clean, breakfast was good, and the grounds were gorgeous. It’s also right across from the new roller coaster if that’s your thing, and the drive in burger shop for quick meals!
If you like McMenamins, where there’s a lot to do just in the hotel itself, then this is a nice ‘little sister’ version, just without any without the bars.

Lovely little dog-friendly hotel with nice staff. They serve a good breakfast and best of all it is on real dishes with nice cups and flatware—none of the single-use plastic and paper! They also separate recycle and compost! Thank you Blue Elk for helping the planet! We really enjoyed our stay😊

I was very happy with the blue elk inn. I wanted to bring my dog along and they were very dog friendly provided a blanket and a towel and some treats for my dog the room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was very satisfying especially the fresh strawberries with whipped cream and French toast. We went into the spa in the evening and it was very comfortable and warm and clean we will probably be back enjoyed our stay there very much. The room 100 that I stayed in was perfect for my little dog as it had a little yard area outside it was private and it was easy to get to other grass series to walk him.

Very comfortable, nicely updated, clean room. The staff were kind and very helpful! We loved using the wet and dry saunas on the property (which is beautifully maintained). The breakfast is DELICIOUS, and they have coffee available through the day in their cozy lodge. We loved our stay so much it was a struggle to leave. Would HIGHLY recommend.

We were so impressed with this inn. It was so clean and the staff was incredible. The cook making breakfast in the morning made the best eggs and potatoes and was constantly walking out to clean even if a single glass was left on the bus cart. The ladies at the front desk were welcoming and full of helpful information. We were planning on this being a one time trip, but were considering returning later this year because of our experience at this inn.

We stayed at the Blue Elk for two nights after being re-routed on the Cascade Loop due to wildfires on the north Cascade highway. The staff were very helpful in changing our reservations, as well as throughout our stay with suggesting places to go as well as restaurants. Our room was recently updated & quite nice. I liked some of the updates, such as the bedside lamp that had a wireless phone charger. I'm afraid the "smart" tv too complicated for us - we struggled finding stations. We had a problem with the room, that the air conditioning made a loud noise during the night, waking us up. The breakfast was excellent - so much to choose from. The location is good - near enough to downtown but not so close to the crazy busy area.

I hotel was lovely, but I would drive into Leavenworth unless you are younger and fit. yes their is a nice breakfast room. When you check in the receptionist will ask what time you would like to come down for breakfast. Also, they leave coffee/tea/hot chocolate outside your door in the Morning. We found that so nice The Evening dessert was a Black Forest Cake which was wonderful. . I don't think you get a break by directly dealing with the hotel, BUT I would anyway. Make sure to make your reservation's well in advance, then maybe you can the 2 rooms on the same floor your wanting. Good Luck.
There are more places to choose from in the Leavenworth area.
