We first visited about 4 years ago and had delightful memories of our experience. Not this time. The 22 courses of one bite each is too much, the charges for the very simple room was too much, the wine pairings were way overpriced for the wines offered, the bikes were not maintained, the hot tub wasn't hot, the gathering area... The meal from start to finish is worth every penny , but I'd recommend not doing the wine pairing. The food is not precious or pretentious, just amazing. I've never heard my wife say "that's delightful" so many times as each great dish came out. The setting is beautiful and there is a palpable sense of excitement as the experience... More

The Willows Inn is a "foodie" experience and the dining was excellent. We were disappointed by the rest of the Lummi Island experience. We took a weekend getaway and stayed on site at The Willows... our room was tiny and only had 1 chair for sitting, which was a problem because it was raining outside. There was no place to... More

The food was exceptional, the service fantastic, the accommodations passable. We had great expectations for the food, and were not disappointed. 22 courses, two to three bites each. More would have been too much. The servers were the kitchen crew including Blaine (the noted chef). Each course was explained in a personable manner. One of our guests keeps kosher, the... More

What an outstanding experience - Lummi Island is only about a 10 minute ferry ride from the mainland, but it feels like a world away. The little corner of the island the hotel is on feels remote, yet peaceful and cozy, and has awesome views towards the other islands to the west (just wait till you get a load of... More

A friend wanted to go... So I made the plans without knowing exactly what to expect. Located on a remote island, you're treated to an amazing locally-sourced tasting menu. The atmosphere is laid back and the service is superb. Be sure to go with the wine pairing for the full experience.

We spent the night here last weekend and enjoyed every bit of the Inn. We booked a room in order to reserve dining at the restaurant, and were glad we did. After the dinner it was so nice to be able to just walk to our room and relax. We booked a room which was right over the restaurant, and... More

Though rustic, the accommodations are good, the setting peaceful and relaxing. I can think of nothing better than to eat dinner at the Willows Inn while staying there - so that travel after a 3-hour meal with wine pairings is not needed. This is not a place to stay unless you are having dinner at the restaurant. It's pricey and... More

Go for the food. The meal was creative, tasty and wonderful. Expensive but worth it. As good as the meal was, the room was as bad. They have a captive audience and so charge $250 a night for a dump. Smelly, old, cramped. Eat there but take the ferry back to the mainland and stay elsewhere.

Other than the public spaces, which are all quite nice, much of the Willows Inn is old, odd and overpriced. The place, of course, capitalizes on the fact that guests get preferential reservations at the restaurant, which is exceptional and I review elsewhere. We have stayed at the Inn twice in the high end Haven and the "budget" Honeysuckle, neither... More
