We stayed overnight in the Garden room. The room was clean and cozy. The kitchenette was cute. I would have loved to prepare food there. Not enough time. The view of the ocean is beautiful. You walk to the backside of the house and sit to admire the view. Good location. Walking distance to downtown area. Ten minutes to the...

Takaki House was such a wonderful find. The proprietor, Margaret was welcoming, gracious and accommodating. The room was clean, comfortable and artfully eclectic. I look forward to staying again in the future and enjoying the garden.

Stayed in the lovely, quiet garden room. Parked and walked to and from downtown and uptown. Comfortable bed, kitchenette with table for two perfect for breakfast before setting out on adventures. Visit Margaret's courtyard and backyard enjoy the hide and seek of sculptures and clay shards, the view, and her chickens!

The Garden Room at the Takaki House is perfect for a short stay in PT. It is basically a studio apartment off of the main house including a small but functional kitchenette and bathroom. The main attraction is the garden which is well manicured and serves as a gallery for some of Barbara's artwork. There is a sitting area in...

Staying at the Takaki House was such a peaceful, comfortable experience in a beautiful setting close to downtown Port Townsend. If you appreciate sculpture, ceramics and...

I stayed in the very pleasant Garden Room, which has a small well-equipped kitchenette. The room was attractive and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The weather wasn't suitable for sitting outside, but on a nice day the private garden would have been a lovely place to have coffee or a glass of wine. Although there is no view from...

Margaret was able to accommodate us in a last minute booking. We were so lucky to find the Takaki House! Beautiful studio, tastefully decorated, with all the essentials that you might need. Very comfortable! Although we were only able to spend the night, we will keep it at the top of our list for a place to return to. Thank...

The room was beautifully decorated and had all (more than) the necessary amenities (in reality it is a studio type arrangement). The garden is very nice with subtle details to observe; a good place to relax with a hot or cold drink. Margaret is very pleasant and it was a pleasure to deal with her; she had an easy/straightforward way...

We stayed in the garden room which is the smaller less expensive room and it was still very luxurious. Lovely Japanese garden and sculptures surround the bluff home. Well appointed with kitchenette so we could make coffee, breakfast and lunch when we wanted to. Close to town so we walked to dinner each evening. Gracious host made sure we were...

This is our go-to when traveling to PT. Convenient setting between waterfront and uptown, off street parking, exquisite view from cliff's edge or up on deck, plus unexpected treasures up close to delight and surprise--remarkable garden art and pottery by owner and other local artisans, chicken coop and wildlife intersection, comfortable room with all you need, enhanced by hostess Margaret...
