Quintessential B & B. CLEAN!! Wonderful views, warm and inviting accommodations, tasty breakfast; but the best part...Jim and Gail...who operate the B & B. They make you feel so at home and welcome. I have already booked my return visit. Can't say enough nice things...More
Gail and Jim make you feel more like visiting family than guests. They give you just the right amount of attention and advice to enjoy town. Then the freedom to sit on the lawn chairs to soak up the view and sip wine. I was...More
This is the only B&B in P.T. that is right on the water; it's close to town, the rooms are perfectly appointed, the breakfasts's are luscious. BUT the best part is that the hosts, Gail and Jim made us feel so at home. We will...More
I honestly have been to many B &B's in my life, and I have never considered the Inn Keepers as a family as I do Gail and Jim at the lovely, historical, cozy, great cuisine, fun, friendly, HAPPY Commander's Beach House in Port Townsend, Washington....More
We were lucky enough to arrive here when Gail's garden was in full bloom (August 8 and 9, 2017). Oh My and I thought I was a flower girl!

There is 1 very cozy bedroom on the main floor. I know because that is the room we stayed in. The bed was very comfortable but the room is tight. The bathroom is private for that room however it is outside the bedroom around the corner off the little back hallway. A little quirky but it is an old home modified as a B & B. The owners are super nice. If a person knows the clearance their whhelchair needs, it would be simple to measure widths of the hallway, around the bed, bath etc... The bathroom is also a narrow room but getting into the shower, I think was almost flush to the floor and I think they had safety handles. I think. There are a few steps to negotiate upon entering through the front door as well as their side porch. But I wouldn't think twice about calling and asking. The owners might be prepared to accommodate your need in ways I am not aware. It is truly a lovely, restful place to stay with a delicious breakfast for you the next morning. Definately worth it!

"Upstairs rooms have better view, worth the 1 flight of stairs if you can manage them."
