Detailed Reviews
Wish I could give 3.5 stars. 3 seems low, but I really can’t say this was a 4 star experience.
First the good: Never heard any noise from the planes at the airport next door or the light rail train. Comfy beds and good water pressure in the shower. Easily walkable to 13 Coins for a lovely delicious meal. Free shuttle to airport, pretty standard for an airport hotel but still appreciated. Standard small fridge and… a microwave, that was a nice surprise. Separate tub/toilet and sink area so potentially 2 people could get ready in the morning at the same time.
The not great: Mostly the very run down feel of the entire hotel. Our view was of the green moldy roof, air conditioners and abandon pool at the hotel next door. NO Coffemaker in the room, YES you read that right, fridge and micro but no coffeemaker, weird. Old slow elevators. Only 3 pillows per bed. Workout room was very small but did have a free cold water dispenser.
Shower was the largest disappointment, broken, missing shelf for shampoo with only glue left on the shower wall. Poor shower set up that will soak bathroom floor if you aren’t ridiculously careful with the shower curtain.
If you only want to sleep here and eat close at a reasonable price point, I would say this is a good solid choice.
If you want a workout room or any sort of ambiance of a nice hotel, my suggestion is to look elsewhere.

Response from Sung Park, General Manager at Red Lion Hotel Seattle Airport Sea-tac
Responded Aug 10, 2022
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. I am sorry to hear that we were not able to meet your expectations. I will share with our team about your feedback and see what we can do to improve the qualities of our services. For being so close to the airport, you hardly get any noise. Even though we do not have a restaurant, there are plenty within walking distances. Our prices are reasonable and comparable in the area. We do have 24 hour shuttle service which is a huge plus knowing that we go anytime of the day. Thank you again for your feedback as we value you as our guest. Sincerely, Sung Park

We stayed on night as travelling by the local light rail up to Seattle for a concert. We got checked in early and our room 521 was at the back of the property. With as we learned no air conditioning operating the room was large, comfortable but stifling with no air circulation.
We opened a window and headed for the concert returning to the same warm room at midnight. Reception arranged a room change to 129. Much cooler so practical for sleeping.
Overall friendly staff, large dated comfortable rooms a short walk from Sound Transit light rail to the city and walkable to the Seatac terminal. Negatives $25 to park our car overnight, no coffee available in the rooms or lobby seems cheap.
Still clean convenient comfortable overall with great staff.

Not a bad choice for an airport hotel. It's within walking distance to SeaTac and the shuttle is available every 10 minutes for 24 hrs which is a plus. Check in was smooth and Aisa was really helpful! The rooms may need to be upgraded at some point but they are quite large and the beds were comfortable.
Would stay again!

I don’t even know where to start with my review, so I’ll try to highlight the ONLY decent aspects of the hotel. The location is convenient and the airport shuttle was fast. Otherwise there are atleast 10 reasons to avoid staying at this hotel.
We booked our hotel stay in November, and we ended up having another friend coming with us so we called the hotel to make sure we were allowed to add one more guest in our room. The woman on the phone was extremely rude and not welcoming which tainted the beginning of our experience. Unfortunately the receptionist that I dealt with 80% of the time was a young woman at the front, I believe her name was Christina. She was unhelpful while we were trying to figure out the airport shuttle and dismissive of our later problems. As someone that’s worked in a hotel before, being welcoming and friendly is typically a non negotiable when it comes to hiring staff but I don’t think that was the case, unless she just decided not to like us. No smile and I had to come up with my own solutions for our biggest problem, our shower being so clogged with disgusting, old hair that it wouldn’t drain. We had planned our trip since November, delicately choosing what activities to do a timing out our days so not being able to shower was brutal. I had to speak to her twice about the shower not draining, which she told us that she couldn’t do anything about. So I had to respond mentioning that we just need someone to snake the drain or pour chemicals in it, and if they couldn’t do that, to move us to another room. I was patient and let her know that we’d go for breakfast and be back in a few hours and that we’d like it to be fixed and she said that maintenance would be in by 10 and could fix it. When we returned at 3, it still wasn’t fixed and when I touched base with front desk she hadn’t even passed along the message so we ended up being late to Taylor Swift, which was absolutely unavoidable but she was careless. I was really thankful that the lady we ran into at 3pm sent someone up right away to fix the drain, but it had no reason to take that long. Our other large issue was people randomly coming into our room, if happened 6 times while we were either napping or taking a moment to relax. Sometimes they’d knock and sometimes they’d just walk in, even though we had a do not disturb sign on our door. Our smaller issues were stains on the carpet and our bedsheet, the smell of the rotten fridge was repulsive and definitely should be cleaned before any other poor guests stay in room 426. The water was cold in the morning when other guests were showering, no A/C and the window hardly opens. I’m very disappointed with our stay, problems happen and sometimes mistakes are made, but the most important part of customer service and hospitality is how you fix the problems and the young lady with the black hair (Christina) in the mornings was extremely unhelpful. We won’t stay at Red Lion again and we feel strongly that we are owed financial compensation for house unpleasant our stay was. Thank you Lia for the empathy and understanding this morning with our complaints, you were one of the only positive aspects of our stay and we hope that you are valued.

We have stayed at the Red Lion, Seattle Airport, many times. We have always found the staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms have always been clean, with comfortable beds and quiet. We were even there when a water pipe was broken and we could not use the water, etc. We were given bottled water so we could brush our teeth, and have water to drink. We had an early flight out, so it was no big deal. The night before, we walked down to the 13 Coins restaurant and had a great dinner. The hotel is very conveniently located and we are able to park our car right there at the Master Park lot. Their shuttle runs continually I believe, every 10 min so there has never been a very long wait. We will definitely stay here again!

You can't beat the location which is literally across the street from the airport. They are consistently one of the most affordable rates in the area even during cruise season. Yes, this is an older property and you will see a few cosmetic blemishes but the hotel is clean and safe. My wife and I have stayed here numerous times over the years....as often as every few months and we've always appreciated the value we've gotten. The loss of the onsite restaurant was disappointing as they had a great breakfast.
The real gem of this property though isn't even the property itself. It is the people who have worked here for many years. We have seen the same familiar faces time and time again and we've always enjoyed meeting them and a having a quick chat with them.
Whether it's the friendly housekeepers, or Lia at the front desk....they are who added the value to our stays here and always made us feel welcomed.
I understand that the hotel will close permanently in a few weeks so I felt it was important to leave a review to convey our thanks for the many years of friendly service.
To the staff:
You are all masters at your profession, we wish the best to all of you.

I only needed a place to stay after returning the rental car the night before heading home. After returning the car and taking the airport shuttle back to the airport, I has to wait thirty minutes for the Masterpark Shuttle A which is home based at Red Lion Inn to pick me up. I called, no answer. I was passed by—twice.
Finally delivered back to the hotel, I decided to eat before the Seattle Mariners baseball game, of which I am a huge fan. My plan was to relax in my room and watch it, as surely the rooms would have cable tv. Gregory’s restaurant, next door, has always been a favorite when I had made airport pickups in the past, so I walked next door.
Wrong on both assumptions. The restaurant was closed, apparently it never reopened after Covid. And this cable system doesn’t care about caring the local baseball teams channel. I was beginning to feel that it was going to be a long night.
The final straw was that no matter no low I turned the thermostat, the air in the room turned warmer. When I called the front desk I was told in a very chipper tone—“We either have heat or air through the whole building, you can’t choose. So turn off the fan and open your window “. The window opens a maximum of three inches.
Okay then. The two stars are ONLY for the comfy bed and the clean room.

My partner and I had a long layover and decided to stay at this hotel and boy do I regret it. Our flight landed in the morning and we only planned to stay at the hotel for a few hours, so not even an entire night and we paid in full (which is reasonable). What was NOT reasonable is we called to see if our room was ready and they decided to charge us $25+ for an “early check-in”, keep in mind we only planned to stay here for a little over 6+ hours. Once we got to our room we realized this is NOT the room we paid for, we paid for a double deluxe king bed room (why am I paying an extra $25 to stay in the wrong room for only a few hours???). The room itself had stains on the carpet and toilet seat, but my expectations were already low for the interior quality. Regardless, I did not feel clean. The air conditioning was hardly working. The walls are like paper thin so I could hear everything around me. We left the “Do not disturb” sign on the door and the house cleaning employees kept trying to open our door! The only pro is the courtesy shuttle takes us to and from the airport free of charge and it’s very close. Employee in the front was nice I guess. I do NOT recommend staying at this hotel.

Lia made things so easy. When I arrived here I was not gonna stay at the hotel because of pricing discrepancies that were not disclosed initially. She made things so understandably easy and was very accommodating for me. I can’t say enough how much I appreciate her help. Connie the housekeeper was so sweet, when I open my door on Saturday I was going to be heading out and she immediately greeted me with a smile and said is there anyway I can help and I said well I just need to get my trash dumped and maybe one or two extra towels. She took care of everything immediately in this morning when I got up to grab coffee and I seen her cleaning she came over and seeing if I need anything. Definitely going above and beyond and needs to be noticed. Thank you so much for having great staff.

Do not stay here . Rude staff . Unpleasant dirty building. When I checked in the lady on reception did not greet me , she looked at me as an inconvineance . She first accused me of not handing her a credit card for the deposit , she said it was a prepaid card when it wasn’t . Then she huffed and got annoyed when I asked for the WiFi code . Unfortunately the room she then put me in was next to the highway and was very loud and there was a couple arguing next door so I requested to move rooms . The same lady on reception was very angry at this and told me this wasn’t possible and didn’t like that I had added an extra task to her work day ! Very dirty rooms- only stay here if you like camping or staying in hostels! Aside from that it is close to to the airport and the lady who was on reception when I checked out was nice. It felt very unsafe as there was a guy who seemed like he was on some sort of substance , wondering the corridors. I think this hotel is under some sort of scheme from the government where they get paid to house criminals / people who cannot afford housing and this didn’t make me feel safe.
