We booked a weekend away from Seattle for the weekend. The fireplace in the cottage is super cozy and the kitchen is perfect for being able to handle some of your own meals. Judith had great recommendations for things to do and we enjoyed a couple of evenings in the nearby town. Even on a very rainy Pacific Northwest weekend,...

What a beautiful and unexpected find. I have never visited Vashon Island and this treasure was a great place to stay and relax. Greeted by Judith and a fire warmed cabin was just what we needed after a long trip up the highway. The grounds are beautiful and Judith was the perfect hostess. It was great to hear the history...

We stayed in one of the two rooms available--the Loft--at the Betty McDonald Farm. It was a most interesting and somewhat unusual stay. From the outside the place looks like an old and perhaps somewhat rundown barn. And when you first enter the building, that impression continues. You're guided up one set of stairs and that impression continues--the second floor...

when you climb the stairs to the top of a perfect barn on a beautiful farm, you might think of the aches and pains of your age, the twists and turns and doorways you pass through, but when you reach your destination and put your bags down, walk to the balcony and look out over the water and the spectacular...

This B&B is close to the ferry and yet off the beaten path. The grounds are lush with a scenic view of the ocean. The barns are rustic but in good shape and the attached cabin has all the bells and whistles. Judith, the Innkeeper, had laid a fire in the wood stove and stocked the fridge for breakfast. It...

I grew up reading Mrs. Pigglewiggle as a child, so have wanted to visit the Betty MacDonald farm for some time now. For my husband's birthday, I promised him a weekend away from the city (Seattle), so what a perfect opportunity to do so. I wasn't sure what to expect as there isn't too much information on the website. The...

We remembered the Farm while looking for a place to stay on Vashon that did not require a minimum 2-night stay. Just a few minutes drive from the ferry (and a few more minutes to town) the Farm was a delight. We stayed in the "cottage", a wing of the old barn that has been converted for use as a...

The Betty MacDonald Farm is a gem of B & B that is my favorite places I return to over the past ten years. The view is spectacular, the accommodations are rustic and in character with the surrounding beauty. And Judith, the inn keeper brings out the charm with her magical touches everywhere on the property. Every time I stay...

Time seemed to slow down while staying at the charming Betty MacDonald Farm. We enjoyed the loft for three days for our 35th anniversary and felt welcome to explore the beautiful gardens, Betty's memorabilia, and home-like atmosphere. We brought our own supplies, knowing there was a fully-equipped kitchen and appreciated the fresh flowers, great coffee, Asian pears grown on the...

I have been going across to Vashon Island and to Judith's lovely home since 2008. I travel widely and don't think I have ever had such a welcoming experience anywhere else. The farm overlooks Puget Sound, and on good days, the beautiful Mount Ranier shows her face. The accommodation is wide and wonderful. In the part in which I usually...
