We stayed in one of the front rooms at Mt Gardner and it was so nice having our own chair outside the room to sit outside. The room was very clean and tidy with everything you needed. It was about a 15 minute walk into the center of Winthrop of which we used the smaller bridge over the river as it was a lot quieter to walk along than on the main road over the big bridge.
I would recommend anyone to stay here if visiting Winthrop.

I've stayed in almost every hotel/cabin in the Methow over the past 30+ years, but this was my first stay at Mt. Gardner Inn! What a treat. My son and I were on a mountain biking and trail running trip and this location was perfect for us to access the extensive trail system. We found our room was larger than we expected and loved the personal touches of a white noise machine, tv with available DVDs from the Inn, an extra large sink so we could wash our dishes after eating in the room, very comfortable beds, a shower with plenty of pressure, excellent complimentary coffee, nicely decorated room, table and chairs to dine at, parking outside our door, etc. The owners were very responsive to our needs and helped us speed up the wi-fi connection. We will definitely stay here again! Thank you for making us feel so welcome, Greg & Alison!

What a delightful respite from the heat -- the room was sized perfectly and provided every amenity needed -- microwave, mini fridge, and LOADS of hooks. I love a spot that provides hooks. The small table was ideal for evening meals, and the bed was very comfy. Nice and quiet here, too. Super close to tasty restaurants, wineries, breweries, and fun shops. Check in was breezy, and the lobby provided complimentary ice, dinnerware, wine glasses, movies, etc. Worth every penny we paid.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Gardener Inn conveniently located just outside of the main part of town. The property is so pristine even the deer hang out on the lawn and weren’t concerned about our comings and goings. Our room was very clean and spacious. The private patio seating is nice for relaxing after a day of hiking adventures. Communication is excellent, although we were a bit confused by the checkin email we received earlier in the day, which turned out not usable unless it was after 3:00. Not a problem, we just checked in at the office when we arrived. Would definitely stay here again.

We had an excellent stay at Mt. Gardner. We were in one of the economy rooms near the road and the traffic outside did not bother us at all - we even sat outside on the outdoor furniture provided and the traffic noise was not a problem. We made good use out of the fridge and coffee maker, and took advantage of the games, DVDs, and glassware offered in the main lobby. The location was also excellent. While it was a quick drive into town, we preferred to take a stroll through Spring Creek Ranch across the footbridge to get into town.
One tip if you're in the economy room - we did have a guest enter our room because he thought it was the lobby. He apologized quickly and ran out, but we kept the door locked at all times after that. I'm sure this was an anomaly, but maybe just keep the door locked to be safe.

We had a wonderful three night stay in Ravensridge B as a family with our toddler son. We were really pleased on arrival at how thoughtfully appointed and amazingly clean the rooms were. The living room was very cozy with a gas fireplace and the kitchen had everything we could possibly need. It felt like a lot of care had been out in to the rooms and grounds. The bed was quite comfortable and all of us slept well during our stay. We really appreciated being close to town and tried a different restaurant each night of our stay plus the local bakery in the mornings. We drove out to Mazama for skiing and that was convenient as well. Owner Alison was extremely friendly and responsive. We would definitely return to Mt Gardner Inn!

Exquisitely appointed, clean, and accessible. From the coffee to the glassware, the Mt Gardner Inn evoked a sense of coziness and being taken care of by invisible hands. As a solo traveler, safety and comfort are a top priority, which Mt Gardner Inn delivered in spades.

Everything about Mt. Gardner Inn fits me to a "T". It's well located - within easy walking distance of "downtown" Winthrop, the market, the river and restaurants without being cramped with people and traffic. The rooms are are lovely and quiet for the most part, and very nicely decorated. The beds are VERY comfortable, amenities reliable, and the hosts even provide access to real cutlery and glassware if you need it. The hosts have always been so kind and helpful, too. I LOVE that I can bring my (very well-behaved) dog with me (the inn even provides convenient waste disposal bags and bins for your furry friend). And...it's still reasonably priced. It's wonderful.

We loved the quiet room. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of accessible outlets for charging phones, etc. The fridge was adequate for keeping snacks and food cold. The lobby was stocked with wine glasses, napkins, utensils, etc. to use. Self checkin was hassle free with clear instructions. I had a question about payment and the phone number given to call was answered promptly and response was friendly. I will stay here again when I travel to Winthrop.

The big question for the Methow Valley in May is whether or not the North Cascades Highway is open. You can get there when it's not open, but you have more options when it is open. There is a wsdot webpage that lists historic opening dates. I normally go in winter, but I have been there over Memorial Day weekends a couple times. The weather is typically warm and dry then.
Hi there, we are in a very rural area so wifi is not excellent here. We have a main network for guests but if you need extra speed we give out a special secure network and password.
