We stayed in the Quail room for a long weekend. The room was very comfortable, new and clean. The inn is a short walk to the trailhead near the Winthrop ice rink and about 10 min walk to the 3 bears cafe, which by the...More
My husband and I have been staying here for years during the winter. We choose it partly because it is a 3-block walk to the Winthrop ski trailhead. From there, it's another 5-10 minutes of walking into downtown. Our most recent stay was 11 nights,...More
I stayed here for 2 nights during a ski race. The property appears to be a newer construction and well built. It's small, which appealed to me because it's less busy and quieter than larger places. It's convenient to Winthrop, with a trail linking it...More

The big question for the Methow Valley in May is whether or not the North Cascades Highway is open. You can get there when it's not open, but you have more options when it is open. There is a wsdot webpage that lists historic opening dates. I normally go in winter, but I have been there over Memorial Day weekends a couple times. The weather is typically warm and dry then.
