This was our first time staying here. The Inn was absolutely beautiful. It was very clean, very well appointed and had everything a traveler needed! We loved that they provided TWO luggage racks, plenty of towels, lots of drinking glasses, coat hangers and hooks just inside the door to hang wet things. The bathroom was well appointed and had lots places to hang towels. Loved that there were SO many windows which we could open. We slept with the windows fully open enjoying the wind in the trees all night.
Breakfast was a bit early for us (8-9:30a) but it was WELL WORTH getting up! The daily egg dishes were delicious, the baked goods were creative and tasty. Everything was laid out well, lots of signage as to what things were, and lots of employees keeping the buffet area clean and well stocked.
I cannot say ONE bad thing about this Inn! We already hope that we can return in the Fall. It was the most relaxing 3 nights we have had in many years!

My wife and I recently spent two nights at the Chewuch Inn and Cabins. We had a cabin and it was cozy, clean, comfortable, and perfect for all of our needs. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially considering the fact that we received two feet of fresh snow overnight and they had the walkways and driveway cleared in no time.
The Inn and Cabins are close to the ski trails and town. We walked to the trailhead for skiing and then visited shops in town—never found the need to use our car.
The Inn's homed cooked breakfast is simply outstanding—the food is five-star as is the service. My wife and I plan to return this year and next the the Chewuch Inn and Cabins.
Kudos to the owners for running such a class operation!

Recently spent 3 nights at the Chewuch Inn & Cabins. The location and option to have a private cabin is great. The staff is friendly, the food offered at the buffet good. However, the cabin floor and surfaces were filthy with grey dust, too many spiders, fleas and bugs, we ended up having to cleaning it up ourselves. They need to spray the interior and exterior for insects, wipe down all surfaces, vacuum and mop! We spent $40 in cleanning supplies just to get it reasonable. A light touch by housekeeping prior to arrival given to cabin cleanning IS NOT an acceptable or pleasant surprise when spending the money we spent for 3 nights.

We had every intention of staying here for 2 nights in July but didn't make it due to a wildfire blocking North Cascades Highway (Route 20). We booked our July 23-7/25/24 reservation back on 10/6/23 with a total bill of $399.18 and paid $164.60 as a deposit. Per their rules, they billed me the remaining $234.58 on July 10. Their policy states that there are no refunds for any reason after 14 days prior to your arrival. On 7/23/24 on our way up from Seattle we were hearing about a wildfire that was blocking Route 20, our direct route to Winthrop. We stopped at a Ranger Station and asked for advice. He said he highly advised us to cancel our reservation at the Chewuch Inn since it would require an additional 6 hours to get there plus then an additional 6 hours backtracking from Winthrop on July 25. So we called the hotel and explained why we had to cancel and asked for a refund. They refused. I told them they should be making an exception due to the wildfire blocking the road, and they were firm in denying my request. I called back 2 days later hoping they would reconsider their position, and they remained firm. But no refund for a wildfire? This is not right. Do not book this place if wildfires are a possibility.

Response from Kelsey Young, General Manager at Chewuch Inn & Cabins
Responded Sep 5, 2024
Yankee33, I am so sorry that you feel we are inflexible. With Highway 20 closing on and off we did work with several people. When we were on the phone with you, we only heard from you one time, we offered you a date change and a credit and you declined. I am sorry that those options did not work for you. We really try and work with people under these circumstances. Yes, there was a wildfire on highway 20, but it was not affecting Winthrop in anyway. Winthrop was still in full swing. All fires that have closed the pass are over an hour away. There were still several people coming to go hiking, biking, swimming and just to enjoy our little town! There were still two alternative routes that can get you to Winthrop. Yes, it does add time, but it is still beautiful in its own way!

Cabin 16 Everline was very comfortable, clean, neat, and tidy, quiet, and has many great amenities including a nice size kitchen. The sheets (so soft) and towels were fluffy white and high quality. The king bed was very comfortable. The home is located within walking distance to so many wonderful restaurants. We had two amazing dinners at Arrowleaf and Mesa. We went to the Barnyard Theater for a glass of wine and a movie. THE BEST! Diane & Mark

Great place if you are looking for piece and quite. We did not get the best information when we checked in. The clerk was friendly but she didn't give us good directions to our room, which was in a separate building and we were not advised that there we small signs that requested the room to be serviced that we had to put on the door. The included breakfast was OK but it could have been better with more variety. The waffle making machine didn't work properly and no staff member that we talked to seemed to know anything about it. The room was clean and comfortable.

Enjoyable experience for our first return to traveling since Covid. They do maintain precautions within the main building which was appreciated. Breakfast was delivered right to your room with several items to choose from their menu that you turn in the night before. The baked egg preparations were very tasty and their homemade granola. We stayed in the Pasayten (2 Queen beds) within the main inn and was pleasantly surprised at the spaciousness that we had. Bath and body products were a cut above the normal tiny samples you receive in a regular hotel. I felt quite pampered. The room was clean, and our stay was very restful, they were mindful of respecting your privacy and the quiet from being away from the main part of downtown we found delightful. Bags of the Lariat coffee, which we enjoyed brewing each morning, is available to purchase along with other souvenir items produced by local artists. It was a very enjoyable experience , the staff helpful and pleasant. I enjoyed having a brief chat with Dan, who is one of the owners of this facility. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and enjoy more of this beautiful area in Winthrop.

Room Tip:Â There are no stairs to get to second level of the inn but a great wooden staircase to travel!

The Western town of Winthrop is well worth a stop before or after visiting the North Cascades. The cabins, set in some woods just out of town, are super and appear to be newly fitted out to a high standard. Breakfast is provided, though we did not have time to stop for that.
We had a fireplace and all mod cons. We saw deer and quail.
Highly recommended.

We stayed one night here in the Eagle room. Check in was easy and very pleasant. Dan was very helpful and explaining our room, the end, things to see and do in the area, and restaurants. He was a pleasure to talk with.
Our room was very comfortable, with a television, air conditioning, heat, a sink both inside the bathroom and in the room. The bed and bedding were definitely the most comfortable we’ve had during our 35 day trip. There was also a little deck outside our room where we could look out over the mountains and enjoy the sunset, and later the big dipper.
There was a hot tub, but we didn’t get to use it. We did enjoy breakfast which had an egg dish, multiple kinds of cereal and yogurt, toast, bagels, English muffins, as well as baked goods like scones and banana bread. The outstanding thing to me was the coffee– really delicious!
