From the beautiful drive up the mountainside on Smoke Hole Rd., it is apparent you are getting to someplace special. The Inn sits off this road up a car accessible curved driveway, and rests on the mountainside with spectacular views in every direction. The Inn is an attractive log building, with large front porch, screened back porch and a separate cabin below. Upon entering, you are in the living room, which boasts beatiful decor, comfortable seating, large fireplace and inviting atmosphere. We were greeted by Carol Fischer, the proprietor, who gve us a tour of the Inn. There is the main floor living room, the basement "map room" which has satellite tv, pool table, and many maps and info about the area. The guest rooms are all different, but beautifully decorated and

For a place of total rest and tranquility, this is it! Carol and Ed, the Inn keepers, are not only world class cooks but also cater for every possible need. We felt most welcomed and plan to return often. The walks up the moutain side connect with a 27 mile mountain top trail. The rooms all have great views of the famous Smokey Hole. The porch is a great place just to sit, read and rock away in one of the many rocking chairs. Downstairs is a pool table and large screen TV. Best of all are the meals. Breakfast begins with a gourmet fruit cocktail followed by an egg omelet made to order. Excellent coffee and tea. Supper are extra and by request and absolutely first class. A lovely drive down the mountain side reveals many places to go fishing and some flat places for

We just returned and can't say enough about this inn. It is a good ways out of nowhere, but well worth the drive. The setting on the hill, the variety of wildlife, and the spectacular inn was more than we expected. But the highlight was the time with the hosts. Ed and Carol have a gift for what they are doing. They made everyone feel so at home and spoiled us rotten with great food and a peaceful atmosphere. We also had a great drive and a wonderful hike up their mountain. If you love great food, great views, and great rooms, then you will love North Fork Mountain Inn. I suggest the southern route in, if you can, as it winds along the southern branch of the Potomac River and through rock canyons. Call the Inn today and book your weekend, it will be worth it!

To celebrate our 10th anniversary, my husband and I enjoyed a wonderful night's stay at North Fork Mountain Inn! Getting away to a B&B is our absolute favorite "date," and this inn quickly became our new favorite B&B-quite an accomplishment. The location could not be beat...with national forest on all sides, with no one to see or hear as we looked out from our private balcony, it was exactly what we were looking for as a relaxing change of pace. As we lay in bed at night, we could look out the window to watch the stars...without city lights (or any lights, for that matter!), the stars were stunning! The log architecture of the inn was spectacular...perfect for that setting, fairly new, well-built...attractive in every way. Carol, the innkeeper, was extremely warm and

My wife and I just returned from a long week-end at North Fork Mountain Inn and I must tell you it is a little bit of heaven tucked away in the mountains of West Virginia. It is a bit of a drive for those of us in Indiana but well worth the trip. The owners Ed and Carol were most gracious even though we arrived a little later than expected. The room we had was called the 'Eagles Nest' and had a beautiful view of nothing but forest. And the entire time we were there the only sound we heard was the wind in the trees. The room was spacious, the bed was wonderful, and the bathroom was clean and quite adequate. There was a lower game room for pool, movies, cards and games. And the gourmet evening meals far exceeded our expectations. Absolutely the best clam chowder and crab cakes we
