The turning leaves in Blackwater Falls State Park were lovely. The Lodge is far from lovely. I will NOT recommend this place to friends or family. Why not? The list is long but most especially: The Lodge is dark, dank, and dated; Old carpeting throughout; The rooms are hideous and small; The ceilings and carpeting and walls and bath tubs...

My husband and I have stayed here many times. While it is not a luxury hotel, it is very clean and comfortable. Has a nice restaurant- good for breakfast before heading out for an active day. Dinner there is convenient if we are too bushed to go back out. Endless choice of hiking- in the park or surrounding area. Also,...

We were married on the back grounds many years ago and brought our children back to see the place that will always be magical in our eyes. The first time we stayed in the lodge in a suite but this time we enjoyed a cabin. They are indeed rustic and old fashioned but that is right up our alley. It...

Sparkling? No, Dazzling? No. Just reasonably priced slightly rustic, slightly retro good solid family accommodations located in the bucolic surroundings of West Virginia's Allegheny Mountains and near a beautiful water falls. If you're looking for fancy, this is not it, but it's good place to stay with family and friends and to get away into the country!

I've stayed at this lodge many times over the years. Always for family reunions. It's in a pretty location in a very large state park with countless hiking trails. The rooms are basic, but clean. There are new flat screen TVs in the rooms which is nice. The lodge staff from front desk to cleaning are all very, very helpful...

We stayed here for 2 nights while sightseeing in the area. The scenery is wonderful and everyone was nice and accommodating. The lodge has been around for a good while and although parts have been updated the rooms need a little work especially the beds and pillows. We would stay here again but next time we will at the very...

Like ALL the WV state park lodges, it's spotless, has a great staff, convenient to town, and a wonderful state park to explore. We have returned here many times over the years because they take of you. The park offers excellent trails, a waterfall, and lots of activities.

I stayed at the lodge for one week for a conference. This place is ridiculously outdated. There is no thermostat. The AC is a wall unit from the 1980's. It smells old and musty. The bathroom, beds, and decor are from the early 1980's. The wifi was so slow, I couldn't stream any video from any site (Netflix, Amazon, Youtube,...

We rented a cabin for two nights during the week of our vacation. It was cozy. We had a fireplace that we used since it was a little rainy and chilly and we roasted some marshmallows. We also had a grill and frequent visits from deer in the area looking for food (which was kinda neat and my daughter loved...

80's hotel with no updates, but actually that is part of the charm. We arrived last minute and they were able to put us up without the mandatory 2 nite minimum. The staff was extremely nice, and professional. The pool was clean and my 9 year old twins loved it. The spa is under repair but that's ok! The game...
