We were in Durbin, WV in September 2016 for the Castaway Caboose and needed a place to stay the night before we boarded the train the next day. There are basically two places to stay in Durbin: the Greenbrier Suites and the Station 2 rooms above the restaurant. I really didn't know much about either place, but more about the...

We stayed in the front suite overlooking the train depot which gave an excellent view. It seems the building is undergoing some renovation, however the rooms, at the top overlooking the Main Street and railroad depot are lovely. They are clean, very comfortable and well equipped. There is a nice sitting area with a sofa that pulls out to make...

It's right across the street from the trains, so worth putting up with the fact that it's old, smelly and expensive. The restaurant underneath serves fried chicken and other derivatives of fried chicken. The coffee is appalling. Worst coffee I have ever tasted. It's like drinking dish water. "Cappuccino" is from an envelope. There is no alcohol. You have to...

This review is a little puzzling since it seems to focus on "the restaurant underneath." There is no restaurant in this building; the nearest restaurant is Station 2, a couple of blocks west. The Upper Inn Club, a few blocks east, also serves food but has a liquor license so people can have beer or wine or cocktails as well...

Durbin is tucked away in a valley. It's a beautiful place. I was delighted to find the Greenbrier Suites in Durbin which was just across the street from the Durbin and Greenbrier Valley Railroad. The two suites are on the top floor of a three story building. Be aware that there are steps to climb to your room. We stayed...

My boyfriend and I recently stayed in the Depot Suite, and very much enjoyed it. The suite is very clean and has everything you need to escape for a few days. There is a great restaurant down the street, that has some delicious home cooked food with lots of locals who are very friendly. We had never been to Durbin...

My fiancee & I just returned from a weekend in wild, wonderful WV and went out on a limb to try this place after finding on the Pocahontas county tourism site. On previous summer visits to the area, we've stayed at the rather uninspired accommodations at Snowshoe but gave this a shot despite not finding any reviews online...it's certainly not...
