Spotlessly clean. A tad dated, but well-maintained. Railroad theme throughout is a a nice touch. Nice continental breakfast includes: microwave breakfast burritos, hot & cold cereals, packaged muffins & Danish, fruit cup. Locally owned with an engaged staff. Gathering room with train displays. Well back from the road so quiet in spite of being centrally located.
if the owners would spend some money on it, but they haven't, so it's not. It hasn't been updated in years. The furniture is from the 1960's as are the bedspreads and matching curtains, which don't totally close to block out light. The carpet appeared to be old, too. The bed is like sleeping on concrete. The sinks (two, which are nice to have) aren't even waist high. The hallway has a perfume smell as if it's covering up an odor. The room had a slight odor, but it wasn't noticeable after we had been in there 5-10 minutes. We didn't even try breakfast based on other reviews and the description provided by the desk clerk. The good is that both the night and morning clerks were nice and helpful. It was as clean considering the older furnishings. It had a microwave and refrigerator and wi-fi. It was quiet the night that we were there, but suspect that might not always be the case. It has a large lounge area and an outdoor patio that could be nice if updated. This was the least satisfactory of all the hotels we stayed on our 21-day road trip, and many were in this price range. I would stay here again if other options weren't available.…
Seven nights of peaceful, relaxing, restful sleep. Breakfast at 6am, clean rooms and hot shower. Walking distance to town ride train up mountain to see waterfall. Gandy Dancer Dinner Theatre see high energy shows and Steer Steakhouse right next door. What else could you ask for
I made a mistake by booking this place for 2 nights based upon their website and remarks. The building was obviously a well used chain motel which is now independently owned. The room had a smoke odor, even though it was designated non-smoking. The hallway had a strong odor. It was a connecting room with a double door and everything in the adjoining room could be heard. The bed was extremely hard and the sheets were worn thin. The breakfast was minimal and totally out of packages, wrappers and containers. The place was noisy all night. All told....a most unpleasant experience!
Ended up here by accident, the Motel 8 across the street was full, and they recommended we try this one. There is a good restaurant just a walk away, and a dance theatre. We didn't do the theatre; there was no show that night. The room seemed clean enough, the shower had great pressure, the AC worked, free wi-fi. There was a mini fridge, and a microwave, tho we didn't use either one. The breakfast was a little under whelming, that is the only thing I can say did not meet my satisfaction. I slept well and that is my main goal.
