When I have company, I always take them to The Forks. The atmosphere is incredible no matter what the season. It’s got a fabulous, welcoming bar, and perfectly configured tables (inside of course, and outside on the deck, weather permitting). The view of Bickles Knob is spectacular, whether it’s bright and sunny, or rainy with low hanging clouds, typical of the WV rainforest. The star of course if the food! I bring friends from all over, and they are consistently happy with their meals. I personally love the Popcorn Trout and the Cream of Wild Mushroom soup is an ethereal experience. Every salad is amazing! The Prime Rib is always a hit. I am typically not even a fan of pasta in restaurants, but their specials are always above my expectations. It’s honestly a wonderful place to have an exceptional meal.

We reserved 2 rooms for our family. Both rooms were large with comfortable beds and luxurious bedding. The views from the back porch were spectacular. We were well taken care of during our stay. Fabulous restaurant as well!

Overpriced for what you get. It is a quaint little place and the rooms are large. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was dated and A/C was loud. We did not eat in the restaurant but had heard good things about it. We will next time in the area. I rate it a 3 because for what you get $140.00 is a very high price. This is a sub $100.00 room in my opinion. No breakfast except for a little muffin in the fridge. There are some nice rooms in Elkins for the same money or maybe a little more.

Ben and Mrs Too really love visiting West Virginia. Many years ago we towed our large popup camper to a privately owned campground in Elkins and had a grand time. At our age now, we simply drive our car and sleep in a real bed, but still found a venue offering a wild, wonderful stay in a setting so typical of the Mountain State. Forks Inn and Restaurant is the product of a family who set out to build (literately) a vacation facility offering comfortable lodging and exceptional dining. Travelers may stay at the inn and dine elsewhere; conversely, stay elsewhere and come to Forks for dinner. Thus, we will deal with the lodge and restaurant as two separate entities. We found the lodge to be perfectly comfortable in most respects. Our room (actually all six rooms) are spacious, spotless, and well appointed. Our bed was splendid. The cool fall temperatures were balanced nicely and silently by lengthy baseboard heaters, the bathroom featured a built-in night light, and the room opened onto a private balcony offering inspiring views of the area. There are a few concerns which should be brought to the attention of travelers. Although rooms are equipped with coffee maker, mini-fridge and microwave, there is no breakfast available. For that matter, there is no one about to answer questions, etc. If you and your party expect the lap of luxury, you might be happier elsewhere. On the other hand, even if, like us, you do in fact enjoy the lap of luxury, you might find the experience here quite refreshing. Traffic noise is an issue, not so much at night, when it is barely noticeable, as in the morning when big trucks downshift to slow down and create quite a racket. We mean a six AM racket! Entering the premises from the road is a feat which tested the mettle of this former fighter pilot. Although possible, dining at Forks when arriving after dark is not to be encouraged. The owners are on premises the better part of each day, and will absolutely grant your every request as best they can. Check in and check out procedures are so simple we prefer not to divulge them. Call ahead or simply show up and be surprised. If you don’t expect to be greeted by a smiling gent in a morning suit, you will return home with neat stories to tell family and friends.

We got there and had a problem with the room right away . I called and they moved us room right away. The second room was fine clean, everything worked right and the view was amazing. What they called breakfast was very poor a dried out tart and a dried out muffin didn't touch them they looked like they were in there awhile. But bed was comfortable and clean. And price was good for area. Staff was nice just a pain to get a hold of since there is no phone in room and No front desk. Wifi was poor but you are in the mountains. Noisy from the highway also
