Stayed here for a family reunion and was very pleasantly surprised. I though it might be a little run down but the room and hotel were very clean and I loved the architecture with original beam ceilings from 1834. There is a ton of history just inside the hotel with displays of old civil war artifacts. We only ate breakfast...

So the rooms and decor are not up to Ritz Carlton standards. You're staying here because of the location a stone's throw from the restaurants and shops of Lewisberg and for the historical ambiance. The General Lewis is a little funky because it's historic, but its quirks are a welcome respite from cookie-cutter chains. Rooms have all the mod cons...

My Mom and I had a wonderful stay at an Inn at which we had eaten dinner in the past. It was really our first Inn experience and it was a total pleasure. There is such charm and history at the General Lewis. We stayed over the Labor Day weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the service, the rooms we had and...

If you love history, period antiques and collectibles, this is an experience you won't want to miss. Each room has its own charming decor, right down to the handmade quilts displayed at the foot of the bed. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. Be sure to take time to enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine on the front...

I have stayed at some of the finest hotels in the US and rate the General Lewis as among the very best of them. If the stress and tension of modern living is working overtime in your mind, the Inn may be just what you need to refresh your perspective. The historical setting of the property almost makes you want...

The General Lewis is a charming, historic landmark in one of the nation's small town gems with new ownership enhancing aesthetics, dining and quality of service. You will enjoy this trip back in time. Have breakfast there and allow 20 year veteran (Michael) Coleman to guide you to morning culinary delight. And do not miss lunch or dinner at Stardust,...

We can't say enough about how friendly the folks at the front desk were and how special both Michaels were in the dinner room. They treated us like they owned the restaurant . They treated us with the highest level of table service I have experienced in a very long time. Looking forward in three years when our daughter graduates...

My wife and I received a gift certificate to the General Lewis and it was one of the best gifts we have ever been given. Certainly very different from the major resort and hotel chains. Don't go there expecting a giant room and monster big screen TVs. This is a charming, old school, and uncomplicated inn. We were greeted at...

I would rate this historic Inn a perfect 10! It is very convenient to all the shops and restaurants in Lewisburg. The staff was very friendly, the room very cozy and charming. The young lady taking my reservation was very friendly, courteous and helpful. Our room was ready when we arrived. The antiques throughout the property is a walk back...

What's good; - Convenient location to downtown shops and restaurants - Decent price Some might like: - Historically charming, it's an old inn so you feel like you stepped back in time. - It has an old front porch with rocking chairs. - They also had a county music duo playing the night we stayed here. - Authentic beds.
