Hi, have been to soho farmhouse before but it really comes into its own in the summer. My wife and I had a cabin overlooking the river. It was stunning. Although we are still in the grip of Covid there was little sign of it here. There was social distancing of a sort in all areas but not enough to ruin the atmosphere. Waiters and staff wore masks and check in was later due to deep cleaning. We ate the first night in the Italian Brasserie but unfortunately it wasn’t good. I complained that none of us could eat the main course and it was handled quickly and efficiently. We weren’t charged and offered desert on the house. It’s a pity because the ambiance is lovely. We went to the barn and had desert there. We ate during the day in the court yard the food and service were excellent. We ate the next night in the Japanese and it was first class. We booked a dog sitter ( Jackie) who was wonderful with our new puppy. It was a birthday trip and it was perfect. Going again in August.

From the moment we arrived and we’re handed a Baileys hot chocolate after our long drive, transported on a milk float to main reception ready for our shooting activity, to an effortless check out (even when American Express made it difficult for me) I cannot rave about our stay enough. Every single touch is personalised and thought of, from supplying you with firewood in your room to the tastiest homemade granola and brand new magazines for you to enjoy in the morning. Nothing was too much trouble and we barely lifted a finger while the happy, chatty and cheerful staff looked after us. We had great conversations with so many of them and they all seemed so full of joy. The only two niggles we had were dealt with promptly and with apologies. The shooting was fantastic, our instructor (forget his name) was firm, fun and got us all hitting the clays. The food at Pen Yen and the main barn is brilliant, as are the cocktails. Reasonable prices too! We were shocked that one yen was a fraction of the cost of upmarket London Asian restaurants and ten times better. The deli does great sandwiches and cakes and has more happy, chatty staff. There’s so much to do and I loved that you can either be active or decidedly inactive and you’re still guaranteed to enjoy yourself. The room itself (cabin 5) was faultless. The outdoor bath and indoor rain shower with a range of cowshed products, the array of cosmetics that are all top quality and the stocked fridge and cupboards with fresh sourdough are all highlights. We used the roberts radio, lit a fire, flung the doors open and enjoyed a morning coffee on the sofa and it was just heaven. We’ve been fortunate to stay at some of the worlds best hotels, but we really felt looked after and like the treatment here was truly 5*.

We finished our stay with massages at the spa and next time we’ll be testing the lazy lake.

We can’t thank you enough for having us and we loved it so much, upon checkout we booked to come back in February. So, until next time!

For years now I have envied anyone I know who has been lucky enough to stay at Soho Farmhouse, and this year to celebrate my birthday, a friend and I booked a night's stay in one of the Piglet rooms and it did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived to leaving the next day, everything was seamless and the level of service we received was beyond expectations. With a glass of rose handed to us on arrival, we went on to enjoy lunch in the main barn, and had dinner reservations for the Hay Barn later on that day. There is so much choice when it comes to the food, and everything we tried during our stay tasted amazing (including the drinks!) We were also able to take advantage of the facilities, enjoying bicycle rides around the grounds, swimming in both the indoor and outdoor pools, and of course enjoying some time out in the room which was so beautiful and cosy with everything that you needed for a nights stay. I honestly couldn't fault it, and particular thanks to Nick who served us in the main barn restaurant, and our lovely South African 'farm hand' Francois, who made sure I had the best possible birthday and took such good care of my friend and I. Will look forward to coming back!

We just spent a weekend with friends to celebrate a birthday and it was probably one of the worst experiences I remember in terms of disorganisation, rudeness and general bad attitude. It’s a nice farm in a beautiful setting but that is as much as I can day of the positives. Food was pretty average in all restaurants and rather overpriced (it’s not like you can drive down the road for lunch so you are pretty much a hostage, like it or not). But the really low point was when we tried to get breakfast on Sunday. No table available, in the first, the second or the third restaurant we went to. We spent 20 minutes walking from place to place in the cold trying to get coffee and some food. Half the tables were empty but booked, so we ended up driving to the local village in order to be able to have breakfast. We had a similar experience when we tried the spa (fully booked), horse riding (fully booked) and clay pigeon shooting (fully booked). All in all a terrible experience. Highly recommend finding a less pretentious farm where you can actually relax and enjoy the weekend with family and friends.

March 2023: My stay at Soho Farmhouse felt like a dream. We stayed in a spacious, stunning cabin overlooking a stream. And we were right next to the goats! The rooms have TVs (that we never even used), a kitchen, huge bathrooms, hot water, and awesome water pressure (which I personally appreciate). The room was cleaned to perfection twice a day and they leave fresh baked cookies for you along with an entire loaf of bread and countryside cheddar cheese!

Every single restaurant was fabulous and I especially enjoyed the Japanese and Italian restaurants along with the half-baked cookie at the main restaurant.
We saw a movie in their gorgeous, old-timey theatre, shot clay, and rode horses. I also biked around the entire campus, watched so many animals, and enjoyed the peace and quiet of nature.

Everyone gets free access to the bikes, which are left for you outside of your room. And you can call for a
"float" if you need a ride. The floats are mint green mini buses (formally used to deliver milk a long time ago) and they are so charming to ride in.

We also went to the spa, used their outdoor hot tubs, went into the heated pool, and used the saunas.
Our room included an outdoor tub and we took advantage of that.

I felt so relaxed during the entire visit. Everything felt so peaceful. Like a dream.

The staff was so helpful and coordinated a ride for us to take to Heathrow.

I could have stayed here for months on end ❤️

There's so much to love about this place. Outdoor bathtubs, fireplaces, incredible service, friendly staff, brilliant food and drinks, and so many different areas to hang out. In full transparency, though, if you are a fan of Farmhouse from a few years back, 2016-2017, and that old Babington House vibe, then you might find that things have changed considerably. They have added so many more rooms and you can now notice a dip in the overall quality of the experience. No fault of the wonderful staff, whatsoever, they will do anything to accommodate you, but on the Sunday we were there, the pub was too full to get in, the cinema in the evening was fully booked, Lazy Lake was fully booked almost a month before we arrived, the sauna was rammed on the three times we checked, and there was no way we were getting in, the dining area was crammed and had a pretty loud vibe. We managed to find a spot at the bar eventually and the service was great as always. Luckily, we had booked dinner both nights in advance.

This is no longer the chilled experience for couples that it once was. If you were going as a larger group and have everything booked in advance then this might be more your place.

Monday morning there was again no room for us at breakfast. The brilliant staff asked us to wait at the bar and managed to fit us in after a while. By Monday afternoon things had started to open up a bit and we managed to get in the sauna, have some space in the pool and get a drink in the bar before having a fantastic dinner. It really did feel a bit hit and miss. The rooms are a fantastic place to be, they're so comfortable, and the bicycles are a nice touch. Room staff did an incredible job.

We had hut number 5, and the outdoor bath was a great addition in theory, and was really nice in the morning, but in honesty we would have preferred it to be indoors with the fire/radio by the bed once the novelt had worn off. The placement of the outdoor bath meant we were in clear view of the men, women and children walking about 15-20 metres away from us. So a bit more seclusion would have been great, no-one wants to see me starkers.

The staff in this place were great and the quality of everything is still really high, but everything less so than a few years back. In total, once we added our transport there and back, and dinners and drinks etc, two nights set us back almost £2k, and although it was a nice place, we would much rather have spent that money elsewhere.

Might be a brilliant group experience, especially for people in their early 20s, but I can't honestly recommend it for couples at the weekend. Again, can't say enough nice things about the staff.

I was a member when it first opened, but then they became greedy too many members so could never use any of the facilities as were almost always fully booked, and the staff had absolutely no concept of customer service and why they were empoyed, so I cancelled my membership. Last night I visited as a guest, the experience was possibly the worst service experience I have ever had, from placing an order for drinks, after 25 minutes the drinks had not arrived, when a member of staff was tracked down, they said the order ticket had been lost twice!. When the Soho member I was with complained the Manager failed to apologise, and said they couldn't cope due to a shortage of staff with Covid, to say the attitude was take it or leave it, not at all conciliatory was an understatement, On departure, we didn't stay any longer it was noted that 3 "hosts" , (the people who allocate a tableor sofa), were standing around doing nothing, whilst waiters ran around like headless chickens, because its not their job to serve!
No way would I consider rejoining, and neither would I accept an invitation to an overpriced, and frankly incompetently run establishment.

The property is beautiful, well-kept, and peaceful. We stayed in a studio cabin, which was the perfect size and had everything you could need- slippers, flip flops, ice maker, kitchenette, torch, bicycle, etc. The tub on the back deck is right on the stream and lovely. The only thing it does not have is air conditioning, and of course we stayed during one of the heat wave weekends. They put a dyson fan in our room which helped, but it was still quite hot.

The pool was nice and a must that weekend. You need to get there by ~11am to get a lounge and umbrella. Be aware there are some days/hours that allow children, which we wish we would have looked at beforehand because there was a period of time that the pool was filled with splashing children and was not relaxing. The pool bar also needs more staff, as the lines were quite long.

We ate at the Glasshouse Restaurant w/ the Wright Brothers takeover, which was very good, but again the service was a bit slow. We also ate at Pen Yen, which was excellent and had much better service. The Main Barn was great for drinks, as was the Hay Barn, which had great live music in the evening.

Overall, a lovely weekend stay on the farm, I just wish the service was a bit more elevated due to the price you pay to stay there.

Had a overnight stay at the farmhouse staying in a piglet. The piglet is stunning, the bed is huge and is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Showers powerful, spacious and fabulous. Everything provided in the room, toiletries, toothpaste, shaving cream, chargers, adapters, hair straighteners, hairdryer. Lovely coffee machine, fresh milk, and fresh cookies. Rooms have air con and heating. Quiet and secluded.

Had an amazing breakfast delivered. Booked a sensational massage and had fabulous supper and drinks at the Haybarn. I’m a member of the farmhouse, but it’s my first overnight stay. Highly recommend as a treat.

What a fun and beautiful place to be for a weekend. Whether you want to completely chill out for some R&R or get stuck into great food and wine, SFH offers everything you need.

We ate in the main barn three times and it was superb. Better service than in the London houses, and the food is perfect. Chicken Shop is closed at the moment and the Italian and Japanese restaurants were full but we still had a great experience.

Had a lovely swim in the outdoor pool which was so refreshing and not at all busy. Played mini golf, chatted to the pigs and horses, bought some divine Cowshed products and generally had a fab time.

You have to book slots at the moment, even if you have a table booking.

Cannot wait to come back here over and over again!

People tend to tip the drivers with cash. Restaurants - you can pay cash to the individual or add on to your bill and the team get a fair split

You can stay with a member. At least one member in each unit of accommodation, unless the large Farmhouse then more members needed. You can apply for a Soho Friends membership which is much cheaper at £100 a year, this allows you to stay but not drop in on day visits

Hi. I am presuming you are a member cos you can’t stay if your not. We stayed from Friday till Sunday which was really busy. I shouldnthink during the week you will find it easier to get a table. But book the Japanese before you go. Innthe reception area there is a list of the daily workouts etc. My daughter booked a spin class which was at 9.30 am. But on waking decided not to go and we were charged £5 for it. Don’t think you would want to hike around the estate. There is nothing to see. It is all fairly contained. Chipping norton is a two hour walk away and not worth a visit. Even by car. I read an article recently that described it as. Butlins for toffs. Think that’s about right. Hope you enjoy it. I won’t go back. In the Summer yiu can use the outside areas more. But when it’s nit good weather there’s not much to do.
