This visit was to attend a business conference so while we used meeting facilities and various dining venues, we didn't really have time to use the Greenbrier's extensive recreational facilities. First, the extensive facelift of the property over the last 5-6 years really shows. Unlike many other vintage resorts, the Greenbrier is bright, clean and fresh with great attention to...

Thank you for recognizing the efforts of our amazing staff and their incredible efforts in maintaining both our buildings and grounds. My wife and I had the opportunity to spend three nights at the Greenbrier for an industry conference this September. What can you say about a place that is gigantic in size that has elegance but is still comfortable and enjoyable. At the same time the historical nature of the place cannot be overlooked. Our room was very nice with...

My family and I have been visiting the Greenbrier for years, it is a family tradition and we love it. A day at the Greenbrier = fresh (Free) coffee in the lobby, walk through the impressive grounds to shuffleboard court for family tournament, delicious breakfast buffet, go for a hike or horseback riding, head to the pool (which in my...

This is an average hotel with high prices who wish to cater to the rich and famous but actually is just a boring overpriced hotel with overpriced food, overpriced activities and a beautiful casino with no life. Way to formal with too many dress codes for this day and age. My husband and I are in our 50's but this...

The food is 20 years behind the times. The dress code is absurd: you can wear a clown suit as long as it has NO “denim”. A gratuity of 20% is automatically added to all checks including when you wait 30 minutes for service. Poor price to value ratio.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your August stay at The Greenbrier; and please accept my sincere apologies for the disappointments you shared. From your comments, it is evident that we failed to provide you with the impeccable service and memorable experiences our guests have come to expect. Your reference to the film Sunset Boulevard...

I read a lot of the of the TripAdvisor reviews prior to our trip to The Greenbrier, so I knew to expect the 20% gratuity charge and the 6.5% historical preservation fee. That seemed to be one of the biggest complaints in the reviews, and although I wasn't too thrilled myself with being forced to pay the fees, I did...
