I stayed at the Rectory B&B the night before and night of my wedding and it was a really cool experience. Jim and Jimmie were excellent hosts, made two AMAZING breakfasts, and had many personal touches. The house itself is beautiful, quaint, and private. A gem within Beaver Dam.
A very pleasant place to stay. "The Rectory" is over 100 years old and has/is being lovingly restored by Jim and Jimmie (who by the way are super hosts). Within a short distance is Feil's Supper Club which has a very good German menu and that is mainly the reason we were in the Beaver Dam area. We made an excellent choice when we decided to stay at The Rectory. The room we stayed in was the priest private quarters. The bedroom has a queen size bed, TV, and normal amenities. The sitting room has the coffee maker and also the access to the balcony. Jim & Jimmie served us great "welcoming wine", our breakfast was delicious and their friendliness was outstanding. We highly recommend when in Beaver Dam, stay at the Rectory!!!
My husband and I recently returned to the Beaver Dam area from Pennsylvania to attend the funeral of veteran we knew. This B & B rivals any B & B on the East Coast that we've stayed in, such as other places in PA near Pittsburgh and Gettysburg, and New Jersey. Besides being incredibly spacious and quiet, the historic and well appointed home sits across from the lake. We sat outside several nights during our stay watching the sunset and sipping wine or eating dessert. Jim and Jimmie are spectacular hosts, always wanting to know what else they could do for us. The owners were acquaintances with us when we lived in the area and we always heard rave reviews. They made us feel welcome, comfortable and ready to return again on our next visit. Breakfasts were wonderful, large helpings and gourmet style. Nothing regular about it! The entire stay was wonderful. I'd recommend this B & B to anyone. The cookies and evening dessert was a bonus. We found it easy to come and go and loved relaxing in the living rooms. We highly recommend their custom bottled wine as well. You can take a bottle with you! A++ to the Rectory B & B. We know where we'll be staying on our next trip back to Beaver Dam or traveling through to other states.…
We stayed at The Rectory in May 2021 while visiting family and highly recommend it! The building is beautiful and has been lovingly restored and updated. The room was spacious, well appointed and very, very clean. Jim and Jimmie are amazing hosts - the evening happy hour, the conversation, and the treats before bed were delightful. The breakfasts were so amazing that I asked for (and received!) recipes for several of them. They have great even space available as well. We will absolutely stay each time we are in town if it is available.
The property and accommodations were beautiful and peaceful and Jim & Jimmie are glorious hosts. We'd figured on bed (comfortable) and breakfast (delicious), but the nightly happy hour and excellent conversation were unexpected gifts, as were the pre-bed desserts! If you're lucky enough to be offered a tour of the former church/event space, definitely take them up on it! We are looking forward to return visits.
