If you like boho chic mixed with the feeling of camping in the great outdoors but sleeping in a very comfortable bed, french 'brocante', if you're looking for privacy, distressing and resourcing, if you like the unspoilt landscape of rural France, green meadows, the sounds of owls and deer, and endless starry skies, you'll have a great holiday in our wooden gypsy wagon at La Grande Serve.

If you are still up to a hotel, with many people around, always loud, no priviacy, all rooms look the same, food from buffet, than you are here not at the right place. But if you like to be in the nature and still have all the comfort you need, this is the right place to go to!!! a really cosy gypsyvan is this. We slept so well in this comfortable bed, I could even have a look on a rey from the window early in the mornig. Lying in the hammock watching stars was great and all the little details in and around the Gypsyvan where so special.
Aadrian is a great host and so friendly. We loved it so much staying there.
Sitting at the big table at the outdoor kitchen, cooking, watching the nature and the creativ stuff around, it couldn´t be better. Thank you so much for this special experience!

If you're looking for an escape from the stresses of everyday life and are open to complete immersion into the stripped back lifestyle of the French mountains, than this will exceed all expectations. My partner and I stayed in both roulottes- Paris and Cologne (the second due to a necessary, but additional unforeseen stay). The accommodation is quirky and authentically vintage. As luxury camping goes, Adriaan's site provides more than one would expect with all the essential cooking equipment, cosy double beds (and bedding) and alfresco dining facilities. Without a doubt, one of the most redeeming features here are the individually designed and hand built shower and toilet facilities, made by Adriaan himself. Disguised as a straw barn, but ornate and modern inside, you can only appreciate the beauty once you've seen it for yourself. The panoramic view is breathtaking; for the avid hiker there is far more to be seen if you are willing to explore! With a sat nav in hand, the local area provides fantastic amenities such as a lake with boat hire, water sports in Vichy and foodie delights, to name but a few. But this review would not be complete without a major compliment to our lovely host. After a terrifying car crash, our host helped us in more ways than we expected and enabled us to continue our holiday as originally planned, despite the dramatic and unexpected setback! Despite all this trouble, he continued to show an incredibly high level of care, compassion and hostmanship. A true gent with a wondeful partner- we felt at home and at ease. We will certainly be coming back and and you would be a fool not to book this now!

We loved our stay here. ~the location is superb, with beautiful views and a peaceful setting. There are three caravans on the property, but you would think you were the only people there. The caravan was very well designed and equipped and cosy, with large comfortable bed.The services are separate, but are modern and of a good standard. The host Adriaan is very helpful. This is definitely camping in comfort - all the advantages of rural camping with none of the hardships.

We visited at the start of September and had an very relaxing week. Adriaan is a great host and helped us out with maps for nice walks in the area. If you like cooking on an open fire (or in the summer kitchen) under a blanket of stars with no sound but the crickets then you'll love this place. The roulottes are beautifully restored, clean and cozy. Not a great deal of activity in the area but a great place to eat, drink, walk, read and relax in beautiful surroundings
