Staying at Stout's Island Resort is a truly unique and special experience. The 1912's main lodge is stunning, yet rustic. I loved how they kept so much authenticity, yet was very comfortable with today's conveniences. The staff is very friendly and helpful and seem to...More
I live in the Birchwood, Wi area and have been to the lodge on many occasions. This past fall my wife and I visited the island for a special wine dinner. The wine and the food was absolutely great! It is a beautiful setting on...More
Wonderful relaxing a beautiful location. Attentive and helpful staff. Went in October and the autumn colors were lovely. Only way to get to the island lodge is by boat. Good Ice Age Trail hiking in the area. Canoes available on the island to use.

Always a tough question to answer! If it is just the two of you, Shore Lodge is an excellent choice for couples as it is adults-only and very closely overlooks the water. Any of the rooms in that cabin would be excellent choices--Shore Lodge 1, 2, 3, and Shore Lodge 5 rooms are probably most common for shorter stays since Shore Lodge 6 has a full kitchen. Other great choices would be Allison 2, Harry 2, Katherine 3, or any of the eight Douglas/Wilson rooms (these two cabins are pretty much the same). I hope this helps! -Emily
