DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! SEXUAL HARASSMENT AND DISGUSTING ROOMS!!! I booked this room through Hopper last minute for my cousin and I to share with our two daughters, both under the age of one. We were coming in to town pretty unexpectedly for a family funeral so we didn’t have many options. I went in on Friday to check in with my infant daughter. The man who apparently is the manager and named Tony, checked me in and made several creepy remarks towards me including referring to me as “baby” and inferring I wanted to be in the main building because I wouldn’t be safe in their other set of rooms, then laughed at how uncomfortable I clearly was. I took the keys and booked it to our room and locked the door. The room was DISGUSTING. There was literally FUZZ growing on the water in the toliet. Dirty water in the coffee machine. Dust everywhere. Scraps of paper, crumbs, and some loose change on the floor, etc. Very unacceptable ESPECIALLY during a worldwide pandemic. It even smelled musty. I decided immediately that between the very creepy manager and how dingy and dirty it was I was not comfortable staying there with two young children. I left immediately and started looking for another hotel to stay at. Nevermind that I’m 25, traveling alone with my one year old, unexpectedly 5+ hours from home, for a funeral. Paying for two hotel rooms was not an expense I expected. As soon as I locked down a new hotel (HIGHLY RECOMMEND NORTHWOODS INN IN HAYWARD!!!!) I called Amerivu to let them know I would not be staying there, why, and that I wanted a refund. The only two people who work there are Tony (the one I’m accusing of harassment) and his wife (who doesn’t believe her sweet hubby would do such a thing). That makes things even more difficult and uncomfortable to me but I pressed on anyway and they assured me they would call the owner about a refund and call me back. They didn’t call me back. I went in and dropped my keys on the counter. I never used the room. I called again and they told me they had talked to the owner but that I needed to formally request my refund through hopper since I had booked through them and that they would approve it once it came through. Fine. I did that and just heard back from hopper that the hotel denied my refund request and would not be giving me my refund. I called and got Tony’s wife again because the owner isn’t available to speak to me. Tony’s wife, again, doesn’t believe that her husband would pray on a 25 year old mother traveling alone. Unfortunately for the hotel, this 25 year old mother has a shark of an attorney for an aunt who is more than willing to file lawsuits and contact the health department for her sweet niece in this day and age of human/sex trafficking and a pandemic. That is exactly what we will be doing if the owner doesn’t get back to me promptly with a full refund, as well as giving this review to any and everyone who is willing to read or listen! Save yourself the trouble and money and disgust! Stay at northwoods!…
I admit, I was skeptical at first when I read other reviews but I am so glad I chose to stay. I came to Hayward with my Mom and my 3 sisters. We stayed in 2 rooms. The rooms were very clean and the new managers were very accomodating. They took over a few months ago and are trying really hard to change the hotels reputation. They told us they kicked out the unpleasant long term guests and are trying to fix up the place. They say they are going to start remodeling the rooms too. I will definitely staying again when I come to Hayward.
I guess it's fine if you are into being unknowingly drugged by your coffee in the morning (see photo). That's right, dirty syringes in the coffee pot! Dirty, nasty hotel with staff that is rude and argumentative when you request extravagant things such as clean towels. We checked in 3 hours after check in & our room still had not been cleaned, staff said "It'll only take us a few minutes", NO, we would actually like it cleaned! If we had any other option, trust me, we would NOT have stayed there! All I can say is RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE
We stayed there, two nights, 3 couples. Was told at check in, which we checked in well after 6:00pm, all rooms were ready....one had not been touched, took 45 min to get cleaned. Next morning, same room found 3 syringes in there coffee pot while filling it with water. Also other issue, see pics. When complained to hotel chain via email, when I returned, said that they did everything they were supposed to do, blamed on Covid. Also, when I complained on 2nd night about rooms not cleaned & no towels, desk help said I was completely drunk, which I was not...had been on motorcycles all day. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!
Just got a charge sent through on my credit card saying I stayed there last night, we stayed at this place over 5 yrs ago and used that card. Stayed the one night because we had to but vowed never to go back. Please beware of the fraud activity and contact the police like we did!!!!
