Room was large and clean, but needs some updating. No microwave or refrigerator. TV is an old, small tube model. Shower head is low - my wife is 5' 6" and had to duck to wash her hair. Wi-if seemed good and pretty fast. Some of the paint was peeling in the hallway. Otherwise, not a bad place to stay...

We stayed here for the Loon Day Festival. The hotel rooms are very large and roomy, but very outdated. The bedspreads look like they were from the 80's. Yikes. That being said, the room was super clean. Bring your own hair dryer... The hotel is located just outside of town and within walking distance of a dollar store and a...

While it is evident that the Great Northern is not a new motel, don't let that keep you away. It has an authentic, rustic, north woods feel. The rooms are a bit dated, but the beds are comfortable, the rooms are huge and the property is very clean. All of the staff is very friendly and helpful. The large breakfast/Tv...

I've been to this hotel numerous times over the last 15 years. I stopped this trip because I needed a last minute place to stay. It was $97 for a Monday night stay ( 2 people) including taxes and honestly, that's a bit much for a motel in my opinion. The hotel room was clean but very outdated. The lobby...

Loved the back resort area to the motel with lots to do like free boats, chairs by the water, outdoor games and a restaurant on site. Cheap drinks and good walleye. The rooms are large and we upgraded to the suite which could match any Marriott we've stayed at. Three rooms with beautiful furnishings and lots of extras like a...

We stopped for Friday night fish fry. Everything was very good, both deep fried cod and baked cod. We also ordered salmon and grilled shrimp. It was all delicious and the service was quick and friendly. The only improvement I would suggest is adding a salad bar.

Very large, clean, and well appointed rooms. Stayed here 20 years ago and had a great stay. It has actually improved from then. Beautiful setting on the small lake with a wonderful great room overlooking it. I would highly recommend the motel for anyone traveling to the area.

Motel has a great location and view along the lake, but found the room just so-so. Room itself is very large, but a bit dingy. We were missing some towels and had to get a light bulb for one of the lamps -- which was very needed as room was a bit dark even with every light on. Bathroom area...

It's a very nice motel Great place to launch from for atv/snowmobile The rooms are huge beds are very comfortable The only problem was our door we had a hard time unlocking and it was hard to reach the front desk at times for fresh towels and shampoo But otherwise nice place to stay. I'll for sure go back

We recently stayed at the Great Northern and the staff made us feel at home. Sitting on a picturesque lake we woke to loon calls and even fished while staying here. It's friendly, responsibly priced, and central to over 22,000 acres of fish able waters. I can't wait to bring my family back to visit.

Thank Donnie S
