Better get to breakfast right away if you want any food because EVERYTHING was gone by 9am (breakfast hours 6am-10am) including napkins, syrup, forks. Bad water pressure for the toilet. Needs to be vacuumed more thoroughly as we noticed popcorn on the floor next to the beds. Location was great for snowmobiling as we were able to hit the trails from the hotel.

On a Whim, my wife and me drove over to Manitowish Waters to a supper club, Of course, it was now 7p and certainly not going to drive back to Spooner WI, After searching on line, we found the AmericInn INN had rooms, most places were full! So I booked it on line. Of course, it's Labor Day weekend! It was a lot more than I wanted to spend, but we needed a room, There was a line at the desk, but the Lady working the Desk helped everyone as if they were her first guest of the day. she was pleasant, friendly, and got us checked in right away. The room was clean, quiet, comfortable, ok, the bed was hard, but most Hotel/Motel beds are, there was a pool area we did not use, But Breakfast was good, waffles, eggs, sausages, juice, milk, coffee. It was a restful night here

Had some issues checking in and out but the staff accommodated me for these issues. Will look forward to going back in the future. All of the staff was very friendly from the front desk to the maintenance people. Everyone said "good morning" and was willing to answer any questions I had regarding my stay. Under the stress of the " covid " era, they did very well.

This place sucks! No cleaning service unless requested, and even then, they only cleaned once in five days, including not emptying the trash cans full of food. Internet kept disconnecting and wasn’t at all reliable. On both my devices. I wasn’t even attempting to stream; just go to basic websites.

We were driving through Minocqua on our way to the Apostle Islands and decided to spend the day/night at AmericInn Minocqua. We had our dog with us, so we needed dog-friendly lodging. We stayed at the AmericInn because of the convenience to the downtown area and they accept dogs in certain rooms.
The reason for the one-star rating is: our hotel room carpet was stained, damp feeling, and smelled bad. Our room #116 smelled like Fritos and dirty feet. The carpet throughout the entire hotel, especially on the stairs in the common areas, was dirt colored. We wore our shoes the entire time we were in our room, unless we were in the bed or showering.
The whirlpool in our room was unsatisfactory. It looked old and creepy and was in the living room area. The reason we wanted the hotel room with the whirlpool is because we thought the bathroom would be larger, but it was so small that when my husband wanted to close the door to use the bathroom, he had to step into the tub to close the door.
The view from our room was the parking lot.
When I woke up, I had multiple bites on my legs and waist area.
Lastly, the receptionist at the front desk was very friendly and personable, and that was the only good part about my overall experience.

Great location in Minocqua, within walking distance to main street and local activity such as parks and trails, just be careful crossing the street, it can be very congested. Facility and grounds were clean. Great parking area in back for truck and trailer. Breakfast was the normal offering and maintained well. Only issue I had was big price increase for weekend stay for the same room I had on a weekday.

Pros: Walking distance to downtown Minocqua. The room was clean. Cons: The hallway carpet was dated, dark. The room smelled- carpet was dated and felt damp. No luggage racks. No towel bars or hooks in the bathroom to hang wet towels or clothing. One ceiling light in tub/toilet area was burned out. No power vent in the bathroom. Sparse amenities. No extra pillows or blankets. No comfortable chairs to sit in. Continental breakfast was so so. While this room is called and billed as a suite due to it having a jacuzzi, the furnishings of this room is far from being worth the $300 nightly room charge. My 2 daughters, granddaughter and I make a yearly trip to Minocqua for a girls weekend. This is the first time we stayed at AmericInn and it will be our last. Shame on management for not taking pride in and investing in what could be a very nice hotel. We expected so much more for the price.

Room was quiet and comfortable. I didn't hear anyone. The walls and ceiling were concrete so blocked all noise. The breakfast was awesome! I am diabetic and the choices were really healthy and not all carbs so I didn't have to worry about sugar overload. The location is within walking distance of all of the shops on the main strip.

I'm glad you enjoyed our breakfast! It's not the hot breakfast that everyone loves (although that returns next week!) but we have worked really hard to listen to guest feedback and have options for all dietary needs. We hope you will join us again when you are in town.

This hotel is rundown and pretty dirty. Hallways smell like strong deodorizer. Location is good. Staff is friendly. Needs a renovation. TV in room is small. Carpet in room feels like wearing shoes is probably better than going barefoot. Location is convenient.

I appreciate the time you took to share your experience. We have been shampooing the hallway carpets so it makes sense there would be a cleaner scent in the hallways. Covid did set our updating plans back significantly but we hope to catch back up in 2022.

Enjoyed our trip until check in. The Manager was friendly and accommodating but from there our experience went down hill quickly. The entry door took a strong pull to open, the entry hallway carpet was filthy with sand and dirt everywear. We were on the 2nd floor but there was no elevator and the steps were many and steep. The room carpet was dirty with crumbs on the floor, hairs in the sink, a toliet that barely flushes, bedside lights that didn't work. The room was stuffy so turned on the AC and suddenly smelled cigeratte smoke so we looked out the window and directly below was a designated smoking area. ????? We we in a "No Smoking" room but you wouldn't know it. Went to the pool for a swim, sand on the floors, whirlpool had coating of sand on the floor and a oily film on top. Could not find a switch to turn it on. The Sauna was clossed for repairs, the water bubbler was broke. This hotel needs a complete renovation and needs a manager with oversight of staff and facilities and not just a friendly attitude. The last point is that these rooms, aside from all the above issues, are extremely overpriced. Should have went to the manager and demanded our money back but we were so tired and anxious to get out of there we just left. If Wyndham is proud of this Hotel folks need to reconsider their choices.

Hi Kevin, I appreciate you sharing your feedback. There is a lot there to unpack. Just so you know, the sauna and bubbler are not broken/down for repairs. They have been placed out of order due to covid and there being no way to properly sanitize or chemically treat them between each guest use. Our pool and hot tub are tested daily and continuously filtered. If there was a film on top that can be directly tied to a guest not showering prior to entering the facilities as our signs direct them to. When guests do not shower prior to getting in the water then their lotion, soaps, hair conditioners do end up in the water and have to be filtered out. I will definitely discuss the issues with your room with our Executive Housekeeper so she can follow up with her staff as we do want to provide exceptionally clean rooms. To that end, if you could contact me with your dates of stay we could more accurately determine how the issues in your room happened. Had we been aware during your stay that you were unhappy we would have moved you to a different room or even allowed you to cancel without penalty so you could find somewhere you were more comfortable. Our rates are based on several things such as occupancy, demand, area events, our location etc. Being walkable to all of downtown including Torpy Park, 25 restaurants, the Bearskin Trail, the water ski show and all the shops and galleries does make our location more desirable than a place that is a mile or two a way that one would have to drive here and hope to find one of the few public parking spaces open. Our rates are right in line with all of the other hotels in the area. We do offer lower rates in winter or the shoulder months of November, March and April. Again, I do appreciate you took the time to share your experience. All feedback helps us improve.
