I attended a conference here and the facility did a great job. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was that several restaurant and bars were closed or on limited hours. For instance if you want breakfast there is one little cafe to grab a bite and go. It took me about 20 minutes to get 2 muffins and juice. The hotel is on the Lakes shore and the views are nice. The staff is nice and helpful. The location is good with shops, pubs, and restaurants either walkable or a short drive. The rooms are comfortable and clean.
Checked into a room that was not properly cleaned and called to inform the front desk. Still was not resolved the next day and went back to the front desk in person. The dirty floor (cereal and crumbs), broken door, bird dropping covered chairs and dirty tub remained for both nights of our stay. Used the "Contact Us" form and no feedbacks for weeks and then reached out to Blue Harbor via Facebook Messager. Received an apology, but action while we were there was necessary. Especially during a time when hygiene is very important. I have recommended BH to family, friends and colleagues. I was embarrassed to encourage extended family to join us and have had this experience.
We went every year before the pandemic and finally went again this year. We always had a great time. This time , not so much. The villa was falling apart. One bath tub did not work and the other only had ice cold water. The villa was dirty and outside there was trash all over and stinking in the summer heat. The villa was supposed to be for 8 people but had barely enough cutlery etc for even 4 people. The garbage disposal didn’t work and When maintenance came to fix it they hooked it up so the garbage disposal had ton run the whole time the dishwasher was on! They have really let this place go and really just don’t care. It isn’t cheap and you deserve better than what they provide now. We won’t be going back and I won’t recommend it anymore to anyone.
This is our second year in a row taking our young granddaughter here. She has loved the variety of places to swim. She also loves the ice cream shop and restaurants. We also visited bookworm garden close by. Its well worth the visit!
My husband's job took him to Sheboygan and I accompanied him. We've been to Blue Harbor in the past, but it had been two years since our last stay there. In so many ways, this place has gone downhill since our last visit. First of all, there's NO housekeeping service. I know that many hotels cut back on housekeeping services because of Covid concerns, but the vast majority have restored those services by now. Blue Harbor guests who need supplies, fresh towels, etc., hang a request tag on the door and supplies are provided via "contactless delivery." But the rooms don't get vacuumed, cleaned, or sanitized during your stay, regardless of how long you're there. As for the balconies outside the rooms, well, those probably haven't been touched since my last visit, two years ago. There were webs with insects/debris over most of the balcony and the balcony railings were in dire need of paint and other maintenance (see my photos). The entire property is in serious need of updating. The bathrooms are tiny, with most rooms having sinks that are outside the bathroom. And don't get me started on the bathtubs... they are so high that I literally struggled to get in (I've had a hip replacement which added to the challenge), so slippery as to be dangerous, and have no grab bars anywhere (unless you want to grab onto a nearby towel bar for support). There are a few rooms in the hotel that are designated "business traveler rooms" with updated features and showers in place of tubs, but we weren't able to snag one of those. Clearly the owner of the Blue Harbor doesn't care about guest satisfaction, hotel amenities, or guest services, which is a shame since the property is in a lovely location and has great potential.…
