When I booked a room at this hotel, I paid extra for a reservation with "free cancelation". My daughter got sick, and we were not able to go on our weekend get-away. Turns out that there is no free cancelation. Just not good business. Slimy. Terri was not very helpful. Paid full reservation plus extra for free cancelation for nothing! Will never book there again!
Stayed here on the second floor #206 for 3 nights. Room was clean roomy and comfy. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Just a note, there is no elevator which may pose a problem for some. Ice machine is on the first floor, small lobby has complimentary iced water and coffee. On the shore there are chairs lined up that made for a pleasant place to chat and enjoy the lake. We would stay again
We had a very nice size room, great bed, nice linen, good tv. We had no trouble with noise. Microwave down the hall was maybe only inconvenience . Located on Lake Superior. We walked the 2 blocks to downtown and enjoyed the shops. For our evening meal we went 4 blocks to the IGA and picked up a great picnic lunch of fried chicken, fresh vegetables prepared in bag, cherries, and desert.
DO NOT BOOK A STAY HERE!!! This was by far THE WORST HOTEL my family and I have ever stayed at.The staff were disrespectful, the rooms were gross ,and our stay was cut short due to racist actions from the owners wife.My family and I stayed at the Washburn INN for one day (was supposed to be 2) Mid-July of 2021. The first day we got there we already knew it was gonna be horrible they messed up our reservation and the SEVEN of us were forced to sleep in one very tiny room, but they told us if we could stay one night in that room they would give us a complimentary room the next night to make up for their mistake so we toughened up and lasted the night looking forward to the next night. The next morning we went to the front desk to ask when our other room was gonna be ready and we were met by a nasty lady named “Terri” at the front desk who was apparently the owners wife, she told us that they could no longer give us the room for a reason even she couldn’t explain and then when we asked to speak to her husband (the main owner who we booked from ) she said no and called the police on us and even the officer was telling us how this lady was crazy and obviously was lying but we still had to leave and cut our vacation short.Save yourself money, time and a bad experience and DO NOT BOOK A STAY at the Washburn Inn. This was by far our WORST stay at any hotel ever.…
We spent two nights at the Washburn Inn while exploring the area. Rich, the gentleman at the front desk, was very courteous and helpful. Our room was clean, quiet and had everything that we needed. We enjoyed the lake walk behind the hotel. We will probably stay here on our next trip to the area.
