Went to silvercrest for dinner in wautoma. When we first got there the hostess refused to seat us by a window even though there was an open table but we were fortunate enough to get a fantastic waitress Amy who was amazing and fixed that!! Ordered the 1 pound crab legs for $39.99 this is what I got. 2 legs were half full and Not 1 claw !!!!!! Won't orser that again! When I asked about it the hostess told. Me they serve crab legs that doesn't mean claws. Funny but thought at least one peice would be a claw not just the back knuckle. The food tasted great the service was good but the hostess needs training in public relations.
There was a group of us who stopped there for a few hours before heading to a vacation rental. Nice big bar. decent selection of beers. The issue was the bar tender was pretty bored with her job and only somewhat attentive. Too bad.
Nothing exciting, a restaurant that serves food. It is nice to look over the lake. I was hoping for a classic, old fashioned supper club with great hometown cooking. Did not get that. The décor fits the expectation but the food was disappointing. My fish 'special' was not a good choice, way too strong and I eat every kind of fish. Not sure what that indicated. Maybe this is a steak place. I was just passing through, got this recommendation from questioning several locals.
Were here for a Friday night fish fry. It was delicious, all gou can eat with chicken too. Delicious, the best in the area. Have also had their salmon, pork chop and pizza. All food and drinks are delicious. Mike and James are very nice owners.
I have stayed at the Silverchryst several times and have always enjoyed my time there. James runs a fine inn and Mike runs a terrific supper club. Together, they are a great team and a couple of great guys to boot! The rooms are clean and comfortable and enjoy a spectacular view of Silver Lake. While I have only stayed here in the winter, the summer fun around the lake gets great reviews. I can unabashedly endorse a stay here. Say Hi! to James and Mike for me.
