Edenwood Ranch and Preserved provided us with a fabulous relaxing getaway from the quarantine mess of the Chicago suburbs. Unbelievable views. The cabins and glamping tents were very spacious and well designed, by far, exceeded any of our expectations. Each one had it's own unique character and I would love to stay in any of them. There was something for everyone.... morning and evenings, we had family fun sitting around the large fire pit. It came complete with Swivel rocking chairs and an abundance supply of awesome firewood. During the day we spent most of our time at our private beach along with lots of water fun. Fishing in a well stocked lake, Sunning on the spa like lounge chairs, Paddle boating, stand up paddle boards, zip lining over the lake, beach volley ball and so much more. We also utilized the shooting range, archery and sauna and so much more We enjoyed the UTV to explore the property to not only see the beautifully kept acreage, but also to see so many deer, elk and other wildlife. We were able to feed fawns by bottle with the guidance of the awesome Edenwood staff. Lots of family lasting memories were made as we prepared our meals in the main lodges industrial kitchen. Special shoutout to Cody and MaryJane for their attention to every detail. I would highly recommend Edenwood to others. We have already booked our return trip for next year. Thank you Edenwood for a much needed family getaway. Kim Pavich Hinsdale, IL

Our gang of 12 stayed here for 4 days at the recommendation of our youngest son from when he and his family ‘glamped’ here last year. The host family was gracious and very nice. The ranch itself which apparently got started as a hunting retreat, is really lovely and perfect for a family reunion or a short relaxing getaway for couples or families We stayed in the Hillside House which worked great for our family of 12. We all particularly enjoyed waking up to watching the deer every morning playing in the yard between the house and the pond. There’s a great deck which spans across the back of the house where we had a camp fire prepared by our host, Cody, every night. Bring your own s’mores setup but they do have roasting forks. The stocked pond has a really great beach area with lounge chairs, floating dock, zip line into the pond, a slide, fishing equipment and all the appropriate water toys. There’s even a restroom down by the beach area! We particularly enjoyed hiking into the woods looking for all the wildlife every morning. You can rent a Ranger or a ATV if you aren’t into walking. There are also bikes for rent but the trails are a little rugged in a few place so I’m not sure how much fun that would be for older folks or even kids. You’d need to be in shape for sure. Cody did take our group of 12 on a Safari ride through and around the property which was really fun and well worth the price of this extra activity. We saw tons of elk and many different types of deer that live in this private preserve. I’d definitely recommend this activity, particularly if you’re a large group. Safari wagon can hold quite a few people and they even have ‘drink holders’ on board. For an additional cost you can also do ‘skeet’ shooting. Our family particularly enjoyed this ... especially the guys. We aren’t hunters but enjoyed shooting clay pigeons. The main lodge has a really lovely dining room and salon bar area. The dining room is where all our catered in meals were served. Unfortunately a few things have changed since our son and his family stayed there. Edenwood lost their personal chef so the food they advertise on their property description is no longer delicious. In fact, the food was a huge disappointment for all of us as the meal package was terribly over priced and the breakfasts and lunches that were delivered by the Moose Inn were not good. The breakfasts were similar to the ‘free’ breakfasts at a Hampton Inn if you like those, only certainly not the selection or variety AND you’re paying extra for it. The breakfasts and lunches were barely edible. We were charged $65. Plus tax plus tip, per day per adult. Of the 4 dinners we had, 2 were ok and 2 were very good. Nothing was cooked on site but delivered by van and served by Edenwood staff in the lodge dining room. Grub Hub would probably be a better option if that was even available. Our suggestion would be to cook your own breakfast and lunches and perhaps just order the dinner package if you don’t want to cook, depending on the price. For a laid back, relaxing family trip this Edenwood Ranch is perfect. Overall our family did really enjoy our 4 night stay at Edenwood and would definitely recommended it ... minus the meal package 😉

My husband and I stayed for two nights in June, 2017. We were high bidders for the stay at a charity auction and heard great things from the previous winners. LOVED IT! Beautiful, clean, private and well equipped - the glamping 'tents' were much better tan expected. Staff was super friendly and we saw all kinds of elk and deer. the elk came down to the pond at twilight for a swim, right next to our tent. Super cool . . . Highly recommend

I found Edenwood after a 2 month plus search for a place to surprise my husband that would be geared toward his interests rather than an obvious girly destination! Perfect! I came across Edenwood Ranch and Preserve and they offered glamping! Yes! GLAMPING!"Glamorous Camping." Winner! Edenwood offers it all, from glamping to suites from "roughing it" to a personal chef! If your interest is hunting, they offer hunting packages. If your interest is relaxing, they offer plenty of R&R. We were amazed from the moment we went through Edenwood's double gated entry system to being picked up and escorted to our "tent" in a ATV! Our "tent" was nestled in the woods and surrounded not only with trees but wildlife! Countless elk & deer strolled quietly & leisurely past our tent! Nothing short of AMAZING! We sat outside on the back deck for 2 hours each evening mesmerized & in awe of their grandeur & beauty. God's creation is WOW! The first evening we were driven to the Main Lodge where we were warmly & eagerly met by staff and offered a complimentary beverage of choice. After we were driven to our tent, unpacked & got acquainted to our new "home" for the next 5 nights, we were picked up for our private tour of 550 acres of Paradise! SO COOL! We gazed upon a "safari" of elk & deer! Then to top off the start of a perfect getaway, we came back to very cozy campfire complete with Smores! We were awestruck and already planning our next visit which we did! We stayed 5 nights in June and 3 nights in August. We plan on going back in the winter after hunting season ends! Edenwood is now one of our top 3 favorite places! THANK YOU GOD for Edenwood! Edenwood = AMAZING! Staff = AMAZING! The meals = AMAZING! Grounds & outdoor activities = AMAZING! Glamping = AMAZING!

We spent a couple of nights at Edenwood in one of the 'Glamping' tents - WOW! The tent has everything you need - bathroom, kitchen, sleeping area, eating area and sitting area; decks front and back where you can sit, relax and watch for wildlife - and you should see plenty! We had deer that were bedding down right by the tent each night! We were also lucky enough to see & hear the elk bugling....so awesome! We rented one of the ATVs and took a self-guided tour through the woods and saw herds of elk, fallow deer and whitetail deer, including some albino whitetail. Chef Romey takes great pride in his work and he prepared awesome food for us each meal - I can be picky, but I enjoyed everything he served us. Joe, Mary Jane & Sam were awesome hosts / guides for us and were fun to hang out with at an evening bonfire. I'd love to go back and have an extended family vacation here. It's absolutely a beautiful property.

There's nothing like having a nice and relaxing home away from home out in the woods! It's always wonderful to be able to witness so much wildlife right from your front door, and we're so happy that you got to experience just that. I'm so pleased to read over this review and see that you enjoyed every part of your stay with us. I know it's been three years, but I hope you'll keep us in mind for another relaxing getaway in the future! All the best, Cody Schmid, Manager
