Stay far, far, far away from this hotel! We expected the basics since we booked at a pretty economical price, but we did not expect the level of uncleanliness and lack of proper customer service we encountered. The hotel itself is pretty run down, much in need of both a good face lift as well as repairs in many common areas. The side guest entrance door to the walkway leading to the parking lot had a green button to press to unlock the door, however the door never locked behind us which was a safety concern as our two adjoining rooms were immediately beyond this separate guest entrance. (We were able to exit this side door without pressing the green button to unlock the door, and were able to enter this side door without using a keycard). The rooms were very basic which was fine, as we didn’t expect the Ritz for the price we paid. However as we unpacked, we noticed time and time again things that as we added up later on, should have sent us on our way to try and book another hotel so as not to completely have our overnight trip to WI ruined. At the time we thought we’d stick it out, as we weren’t planning on spending much time in the rooms anyway. Upon checking in, the rooms felt dirty – the carpet was gross and dingy and the bedspreads were stained and soiled. Both rooms had weird odors; they weren’t entirely disgusting but smelled almost of cheap cologne or air freshener trying to mask something deeper. As we placed our bags on one of the beds in room 132, we noticed a large spot that looked like a blood stain or food spot on the comforter; also the carpet and bed skirt along the bed had white, splotchy stains that went along the length of the bed. Again, we figured we would just deal with this since we were only spending one night here. Whenever we sat on the toilet, it was loose and sounded like the toilet was about to detach. The curtains were ragged and torn and didn’t do a very good job of keeping out the glaring lights of the bank drive-through next door. The most alarming issue occurred at 1:30 AM as I was awakened by my 13 year old daughter who was in the adjoining room 130 and was very distraught and upset because she had found a bed bug on her. She had looked up bed bugs on her phone and sure enough, it was a bed bug which she removed from her shirt and placed in the bathroom for me to come see. I immediately brought it to the attention of the front desk staff who showed really no concern about this other than to offer us different rooms. In the meantime I had returned to my daughter’s room to do a more thorough check and saw another bug when I lifted her mattress. We immediately packed up and hit the road at 2 AM to drive 2 hours back home, as staying at this dump was not an option, nor was trying to find alternate accommodations at 2 AM at all feasible or pleasant. My follow up attempts with this hotel were unsuccessful and the manager never returned my calls over a 3 day period. That is the most disappointing of all, because clearly he doesn’t care about rectifying this issue. Again, don’t waste your time or money with this dump. We had looked at the other beds subsequently and found they had mattress covers/wraps on them – I can only guess that these might be used to keep bed bugs from getting out of the mattresses and into the room. Gross gross gross!

Bed bugs are a very serious issue in our industry today. This is not a subject to be taken lightly and one that is acted on immediately. Although we have our hotel inspected regularly for any evidence of bed bugs, we also follow up immediately on any guest concern. In the case of this guest our contracted pest control provider was on site within 2 hours of the alleged report. The pest control company did a thorough and documented inspection of the room along with hotel staff and found no evidence of any stage of a bed bug. We appreciate and are thankful for the concern and awareness of our travelers which would enable us to eliminate a problem immediately should it arise. We will continue to immediately act on even the slightest concern of any of our guests in this serious matter. We will also continue to support the findings of the professionals we hire to handle any pest control situations.

A great place to stay! We had a lot of water damage in our home and had to move out while they replaced the damage.we stayed there and almost became part of their family. Very great bunch of folks. The room keepers were really a gift. And the daily clerk Annie was always there for us in the mornings for the continental breakfast and we became good friends as well. The owner Ron is a fantastic person who is very considerate by allowing some help when needed.We stayed from September 15 thru Nov 1st while Empire replaced the carpet and kitchen and hall with LVP. So in conclusion just a great bunch of folks to be associated with. THANKS A LOT!!

Very helpful upon arrival. Took care of me my girlfriend and son with all requests and made our 7 day stay very welcoming and enjoyable, would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere with good people and is clean n quiet🙏 And the price they charge for the 1 king bed suit was better than most places iv searched with wat they all offer.

Came here with my daughter when we went to Sunburst tubing for the evening. Went swimming. Most accommodations are good, but not happy with our stay at the hotel, as the staff did not follow thru on his promise to us! I believe he was the manager! After tuning & then swimming for awhile, we went back to the room & only wanted to watch some TV & then fall asleep. We could not get our TV to work; after messing with it for awhile, I called the front desk. He told me what I needed to do, which I had already tried & it was not working. He ended up having to come to our room to try to get it working, he also could not! Then had to call the cable company, from our room- he was in there for about 20 mins. Said they would reset something & he left the room & said he would return. When he came back, still didn't work. This all went on for about an hr. Said he was sorry & that he would take 10% off of our bill. I told him we had already pd., because we booked thru Hotels.com. He said he could still refund 10% & I could take care of it in the morning. Upon checking out in the am, I told the woman about it. She initially tried to tell me it was already taken care of, but I had not given her a credit card. After, she finally saw a message from the gentleman the night before. Tells me she just needs to write down my credit card # & I would have to wait until the following day for the owner to apply the credit. I asked if she could just put the credit card on my acct, as I did not feel comfortable with her writing down all of my info. So she did. I asked if I could call the following day when he was in to check in it. I did that & was told that it was "taken care of," but that it didn't show on by card because it would "take awhile to process!" Yeah, NO CREDIT EVER SHOWED UP ON MY CARD! I will never stay there again!
