This might be a longer one, so bear with me: Accommodations - Everything at Bitterroot is a cabin, and the cabins are scattered through the valley. Some are very close to the main house, some quite a walk away - if you care, best to mention this when you book. The cabins are very clean and ours had a bed...

I visited Bitterroot back in the spring with 3 girlfriends, all experienced riders. I hadn't thought to write a review until traveling some more this winter, causing me to reminisce about how amazing this place was. The riding: I've been riding on many trips in the past and none quite lived up to the riding we got to do at...

My husband and I visited the Bitterroot Ranch in September. It was an enjoyable trip. Our cabin was excellent - secluded and alongside a babbling creek and actually had a wood stove for heat. Not all of the cabins have stoves and some are not secluded, so you may want to specifically ask for such things if they matter to...

This was our third trip to the Bitterroot and we will come back. The location is beautiful, so every day you ride to two new places. The place is really about the riding - you are divided into skill groups early on and spend much of your time with the same people. That makes it easy to make friends (we...

I visited the Bitterroot ranch in September of 2015 for the Yoga and Riding retreat. I have wanted to go on this trip for over ten years (!) after reading about the ranch in the book 1,000 Place To See Before You Die. IF you are a lover of horses and the outdoors, you will love the Bitteroot. Riding is...

I came for the fly fishing and it was superb. As nice a Cutthroat fishery as one will find. However I left with many more memories. Of new friends made with fellow visitors from around the world. Food that was plentiful, lovingly prepared and so remarkably fresh and clean. A cabin almost too cool and comfortable to be real. And...

For over 35 years I have wanted to do a horseback pack trip in the wilderness. Finally when my kids were all finished college and out of the house I have the money and time to do this. I knew the Wind River country in Wyoming is famous for large wildernesses and cowboys, I googled pack trips in Wind River...

I was attracted to the combination of practicing yoga and riding. I was very excited about moving cattle. The food was outstanding, the yoga sessions more than met my expectations - thanks Olivia. The riding allowed me to see so many beautiful places around the ranch. The cabin was very rustic and I had a couple of mice friends. The...

My boyfriend and I had a lovely time at Bitterroot Ranch. I'm an out of practice hunter/jumper rider and he's a beginner. I rode 5 horses during my stay and each ride we visited somewhere new. The food was excellent and the kitchen staff had no problems accommodating a pescatarian diet. The surroundings were beautiful and all staff members were...

I was at the ranch for the Spring Cattle Drive, and enjoyed myself so much, I've already booked to return for next year! What more can I say! Make sure to take sunscreen, and chap stick with an SPF in it. The ranch is quite remote and if you want/need to run into the small town, you will lose riding...
