Hard to imagine a nicer, friendlier place to stay than Ka'awa Loa Plantation, but I'm a person who likes inns/hotels/and b& bs as opposed to resorts, St. John's Caneel Bay being an exception. The house, which looks circa 1920s, was built or rebuilt in the...More
Such a lovely and welcoming place to stay. The best of bed & breakfast experiences, with a fabulous location, great breakfast and lovely hosts, who made everyone staying welcome. The view from the verandah make it hard to leave and explore the surrounding areas!
Just stunning. They were all so welcoming and friendly. The plantation is stunning with an amazing view of the bay. Breakfast was beautiful and Mike had put a lot of effort into making it using ingredients from the plantation. The fresh fruit and juice was...More

We stayed in the large suite when we were there last week. If you stay in the other rooms in the main plantation house you will have to take a shower in the very nice private showers in the backyard; they provide towels and high quality bathrobes. I'm not sure whether these standard rooms include an ensuite toilet & sink or if those are shared. Check with the owners at 808-323-2686. Phoning is the best way since they don't always respond within 24 hours to emails.
Also, FYI, we spoke to a number of couples who were staying in the regular rooms when we were there and all seemed quite satisfied with the accommodations. This is a great place to stay.
