I loved my 2 night stay here over Thanksgiving. Honestly, if you haven't been to Hilo before, when you drive up to the building you're wondering, huh, is this really the place? But don't let that deter you. The location is actually perfect. The hosts are amazing and so accommodating. The breakfast is to die for. My room was very...

We stayed at Hilo Bay Hale for 5 nights in the Michener Room. The owners created a welcoming and easy atmosphere. Our room had a private balcony and spacious bathroom. The kitchen was made available for our use anytime which was a nice bonus. Breakfast was thoughtfully prepared each morning by Matthew who was a great host. Location was good...

Hilo Bay Hale B&B is lovingly decorated (see photos) and there are covered outdoor decks off several of the rooms and the kitchen. The excellent breakfast was a nice start to the day and Carolina, who greeted us on arrival, had several great tips on places to go. We stayed in the James Michener room and could feed the koi...

We stayed in the Lava Room. Nice large room with small patio. The bed was comfortable and the shower felt great (like a warm forest rain). The room could have done with a ceiling fan or a standing fan that would have helped with the nights. It is easy walking distance to all of downtown Hilo. The staff are nice...

We showed up unannounced on the doorstep tired, dirty, and hungry. To our immense pleasure we were promptly welcomed into the Orchid Room. We had access to laundry and were given excellent advice on a Thai restaurant within walking distance. The bathroom was very large and the whole property clean. This was our first time at a bed and breakfast...

My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of staying here for three nights during our visit to the Big Island. We were greeted with a listing of local sights and points of interest in the area which we really appreciated as first-timers to the area. The B&B is located in a great spot-within minutes you can walk downtown and access...

This was fabulous. Mathew and Danny are the perfect hosts. The room was ready when we arrived at 3 pm. We had just finished a "Doors Off" helicopter ride over the volcano. WOW. The James Michner Room was wonderful with a beautiful balcony to see the wonderful landscaping and the chorus of birds and frogs, depending on the time of...

Spent two days there in the lava room. This room is very large and newly renovated in the basement. The double pane window and sliding door kept the frog noises down to a minimum. Really enjoyed access to washer and dryer after being on vacation for 1 1/2 weeks. That was unexpected. The breakfast with all the fresh fruit and...

Surprisingly spacious, private rooms in an historic Hilo home, minutes from downtown and the beach. Dine on your private deck or join others for a communal breakfast featuring local fruits and organic offerings in a laid-back "aloha" setting. If you love to fall asleep serenaded by frogs, waking to the chorus of birds and enjoying breakfast with the Koi, this...
