What a great place. A little adventerous to find and get to, but well worth the effort. Don't recommend the initial trip in after dark, make sure it's still daylight. Very simple once you know the route, but can be intimidating the first time in if you happen to notice the private property signs. Once you're there, what a gem....

The Inn is located just 10min outside of Hilo in a remote rain forest garden right next to the Kulaniapia Falls which are spectacular. If the water level is low you can swim in the natural pool. Beautiful asian style rooms, good breakfast, easy check in and out. Amazing two night stay.

It's a good drive into the hills behind Hilo. Narrow, windy road thru macadamia nut farms until you hear the roar of the falls. Very peaceful and tranquil stay. We are from Oahu and the get away was nice. Only the sound of the coqui frogs was a little annoying. But it was tolerable.

The Kulaniapia falls Inn was just great all around. The road or drive to the Inn took you thru the old plantation. The room was very nice, clean, and the waterfalls just behind the room was beautiful. We definitely stay her again.

I found this place online with trip advisor. The only rooms available were at the end of our vacation. And having a flight out at 10 in the evening I decided to try it out. Easy to book online. Not as easy to get to, but worth the drive up from Hilo, which takes you through groves of macadamia trees....

We really enjoyed our stay at the Inn. We began our vacation on the Big Island here, only for one night but could have easily stayed longer if we had planned our trip differently. The sound of the roaring waterfall was wonderful as well as a peek of an ocean view from our lower level bedroom. The two lovely ladies...

This place was amazing. Very informal checking in, they leave the key in the door to your room. The feeling is so peaceful when you arrive. The bamboo garden is cool and you must jump in the waterfall! It was so worth it! Everyone was genuine and good hearted. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was great, made to order...

The harmony house is really a glorified rooming house with a nice common area in which there is a kitchen, dining table and sofas, but not enough seating if all the guests are present.. Our room, the Hibiscus room is BASIC, measures 11 by perhaps 12 feet, has a Queen bed and an adjoining outside, enclosed screened area that when...

This inn was a last-minute find for us during a 2-night stay in Hilo. The location, lodging, and grounds were absolutely wonderful! It's a bit of a drive, but it's pretty and we didn't mind it. Plan to bring your own picnic lunch and dinner food to avoid an unnecessary long schlep back into town. The first night we stayed...

Breathtaking Kulaniapia Falls and the bamboo garden, friendly inn keepers and working staff, nice rooms, and fresh breakfast! This is an amazing place ~ A Paradise! Their macadamia waffle was the best waffle I’d ever had. They also have free yoga classes at 10am-11am on Tuesday & Friday. I'd like to stay more days there next time.
