Nice hotel with a great view of the ocean. Getting a bit long in the tooth and can use a good reno. Clean and comfortable. Great location near downtown Hilo and next to the park area of Hilo. Nice balcony to sit and relax while looking at the ocean.

Most reviews and word of mouth had recommended this hotel as the best place to stay in Hilo. Stay away! If this is the best Hilo has to offer don’t bother going to Hilo and just stay in Kona, or North of Kona, (which is what most of the locals seem to want - very sad because Hilo seems to...

Dear Valued Guest: Thank you for sharing your experiences with us and allowing me the opportunity to explain. First of all I do apologize for failing to meet your expectations. We normally do receive many complimentary remarks regarding our cleanliness of our rooms but clearly we were not performing to our usual standards that day. I inspected the rooms to...

This hotel is in an excellent location, right on the water and just minutes to downtown Hilo via car. The staff were very attentive and courteous. The overall property though had a slightly tired feel to it and probably needs a bit of updating. The free parking was a nice perk. I was also very happy to see that it...

I would certainly not go back here. I stayed at this hotel for two nights only because I needed a place to stay while having some appointments in Hilo, and this seemed like a good option because it looked nice and is conveniently located (10 mins by car from downtown Hilo). The parking place and the lobby make a terrific...

Bearing in mind option are limited on this side of the Island - this hotel was fine. It's on the bay, the parking is free, there is free wifi in the lobby and the rooms were comfy and clean. That's all you can really ask for. That said, our room had an overwhelming smell of bleach when we first arrived...

We stayed here 4 years ago and wrote a review about our stay there. Since we enjoyed our stay last time we decided to stay here again since the Volcano House in the Park was still closed. This time our stay was pretty much the same as last time, really, just like last time even down to the same bed...

This is our second stay at this hotel. Our first stay was last June and the place was in good shape with great service. They've had a change in ownership, and in just over a year, the place has gone downhill in some obvious ways. This time the bathroom shower had mold - I asked the room attendant about it...

Hilo is not known for five-star accommodations - or even two-star - but if you are okay with a very dated and tired hotel that is extremely (and surprisingly) clean, the Castle Hilo Hawaiian will fit the bill. The hotel is centrally located, easy to find, and the rooms provide the necessities. Even though I did a bed-bug check upon...

Always have a nice stay at Hilo Hawaiian Hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful...great Hawaiian style hospitality. Rooms are nothing fancy, but clean and relaxing views-especially the ocean view rooms. Nice breezy lobby. Great for morning walks/jogs through the nearby park...just a block from hotel. Parking near to hotel, feels safe as all parking (even downstairs) very near open lobby...

I booked this hotel based on limited options and the reviews. I was actually pleased with the hotel. First of all, FREE parking...in Hawaii! Yes the rooms are dated, new bedspreads would help. But the rooms were clean and very roomy! The views are great. We had dinner in the restaurant and the seared ahi tuna was to die for!!...
