I don't like BnB's and always try to stay at hotels. Staying at Kale Kai changed my perspective completely. We stayed at Pele suite which had a private kitchen and a patio w/ a beautiful view of the bay. The room was tastefully decorated. In...More

We stayed in the Bamboo Room at Hale Kai for two nights during our week-long trip to the Big Island. As other reviewers have mentioned, our suite was the most private of the four. We spent most of our time on the lanai/balcony overlooking Hilo...More

This is not a noisy spot. Ask the owner re king bed, rooms are not fancy but spacious. Request a room at the far end - away from dining table.

Aloha, The car rental is about a 3 minute walk from baggage claim at the Hilo Airport. If you are coming into the Kona Airport, there is a shuttle that takes you there and it's about 5 minutes away from baggage claim.
