You will find yourself nestled in a local neighborhood and 5 minutes away from each of the Big Islands highways. One highway direction will take you to the Volcano National Park, another to Mauna Kea, and the third direction will take you to Hilo. My husband and I loved coming back from hiking and swimming to a home where we...

This rental is in a quiet residential area south of Hilo. If one's intent is to visit the southeast beaches, Volcano, Pahoa and recent lava flows, Volcanoes National Park, etc., this is a perfect choice. We had no difficulty finding it in the dark, using our "maps/gps" app on our smart phone. The unit we were given was one very...

Brad and Myra, the caretakers, made us feel so welcome from the minute we drove in the driveway, and yet they left us entirely alone. This studio is adorable, and extremely well appointed. The kitchen is well stocked beyond any hotel or timeshare I've stayed in, with a full size fridge, dishwasher, garbage disposal, dishes, etc. The lanai is so...

'We were recently invited to a big conference in Honolulu just before Xmas. Coming from completely the other side of the globe, 2 days of traveling, 11 hours of difference, we decided to spend an additional week in some other of the beautiful Hawaiian Islands. After a considerable reasoning and research we chose the big Island, because it offers beautiful...

We tried to find this place for over an hour - all the streets were poorly lit and when we contacted the place we were told they would be waiting outside with a flashlight. When we did find the dark house we were greeted with a man swinging a flashlightt and yelling something at us - we were scared so...

The Keaau place is more than we expected. Everything is beyond perfect. We spent two nights here, it's a good location to visit the volcanoes. There is a chopping place nearby and also close to Hilo downtown. Brad and Myra take very good care of the place. It's very tidy and comfy. We got everything we need. One cannot ask...

9.6 “Perfect for volcanoes visit” This is a very good option to stay on the Big Island if you're planing your activities on the Hilo side, or you're visiting volcanoes. You'll have everything you need for a comfortable living. And the condition of the unit, and appliances is really good. It is a quiet place, very relaxing. Keep in mind...

We stayed at Keaau Place for 3 nights and were very happy. We were exploring east side of the Big Island and found it convenient, relaxing, homey place to stay. The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. One night we were returning back in heavy rain, Brad (the host) was waiting for us with an umbrella!!! The place was spotless...
