My husband and I enjoyed our very unique stay at the Volcano Rainforest Retreat! We stayed in the Forest House. The grounds are beautiful, the hot tub was great for the cool evenings, and the in-room breakfast made for relaxing mornings. Know that the walls are glass (and the shades are sheer), meaning that you seemingly have very little privacy....

Stayed just one night in the Bamboo cottage. Kathleen did orientation for us and gave us great advice on dinner and lunch spots in Volcano and in Hilo. The cottage was amazing. I'm sure that most people who stay here are looking for quiet romance but we were here on spring break with our 8 & 10 year old. The...

We stayed in the Bamboo Guest Cottage, and it was perfect: comfortable furnishing and lovely decor; a fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast basket, coffee, and eggs provided everyday; music and dvds for breaking the sound of birdsong; free wifi; and a furo, a Japanese hot tub, outside in the rainforest. The furo is an amazing experience of calm and...

We recently stayed here while visiting the National Park. We were lucky enough to have the Guest Cottage as our home base. This was once the owners primary residence and it has all the little details that make it feel as comfortable as home. Beautiful tiled shower with windows looking right in to the bamboo and moss of the rainforest....

This lovely cabine is only 5 miles to the Volcanoes National Park and the Volcano village. The cabine is well equipped and very functional. The owner takes very good care of its property. In only five minutes driving west to the volcano park, you leave a lush forest for a dry and warm desert. The contrast is very impressive. We...

My husband and I stayed in the Sanctuary for 1 night earlier this month while visiting VNP. The room is a studio of sorts, with a bedroom/kitchen combo and then a bathroom area (minus shower, which is outside!) separated by sliding doors. The room was very sweetly decorated, and stocked with all sorts of goodies like granola and honey, fruit,...

The Volcano Rainforest Retreat was a wonderful little place and we can't wait to go back! After reading about the Sanctuary online, we knew we were in for a small intimate cottage and that is exactly what we got! The outdoor o'furo tub and shower were great. You have your own little cottage in the middle of a rainforest. It...

I booked the place on the numerous recommendations from TA's and was not in the least disappointed! After parking the car we were led on a short forest train through the woods (I.e 30 secs) to our little cottage. It was more lovely than the pictures with a outdoor bath and Japanese hot tub for the cool weather at Volcano...

We had the most wonderful stay at Volcano Rainforest Retreat. My husband and I spent 3 nights in the Sanctuary. We picked this retreat especially as it seemed perefect for my 50th birthday and our 20th anniversary and we could not have been happier. We can think of nothing that could be improved upon. It was lovely to be met...

We had a wonderful honeymoon at Volcano Rainforest Retreat. We spent two nights in the Forest House, and had a fantastic time. The cottages are wonderfully furnished and we were surprised how well they did with the small space. Anne was there to greet us the second we pulled in, and she gave us a great tour of the property...
