I am usually an easy to please person (look at my other reviews) but I feel I need to warn others about this place. We showed up a little after 4pm, which the website and our correspondence said was the check in time, to find a sign on the door that said check in was at 430pm. The owner was...

Thank goodness I had GPS! Warm welcome to this unassuming family run set up. They have a variety of rooms varying from dormitory with shared bathroom facilities to private rooms with private bathrooms. I chose the latter. The sheets on the bed were clean but very stained! No breakfast but there is a communal kitchen with free tea, coffee and...

The location could not be beat! Literally "around the corner" from the National Park and the town. The facilities were very clean as well. We have stayed in nicer hostels for less money, but keep in mind its Hawaii, and a private room is going to cost you over $100. However, the "lock out" until 4:30 was a major inconvenience!...

This is the first time I stayed at a hostel. It is close to Volcanoes National Park. The rooms are simple but clean. The owners close the hostel during the day to clean it. There are also laundry facilities on the property. The kitchen is clean, large and well appointed. My only recommendation is that they clean their blankets which...

Beautiful location (obviously). Room was extremely old and run down. Smelled like bad cooking due to so many hostellers cooking their food (bleck). The room is way up above and it was a pain lugging my luggage up there. Not worth the price really for my private. The bathroom was good I'll give them that. Yappy little dog barked non...

We had a private room with private bathroom for our stay in February 2016. Everything was clean and well-cared for. The owner was very nice and it was a great place to stay close to the park. This let us be the first on the trails in the morning, which was lovely!

This is my go to place to stay when visiting Volcano National Park before backpacking up to Moana Loa. It is located a little over a mile from Kilauea Crater in a majestic rainforest. The owner lives with his family at the residence and is very accommodating. The Inn is very clean, has very spacious kitchen with free hot chocolate...

My stay here was really comfortable. The place is clean and well cared for. The manager owner lives under the same roof. The kitchen is huge and well equipped and the bunk beds were comfy. Very well priced and right next to the park. They only take cash.
