A hidden gem on the island, it is a great value for budget accomodations. The owners are super friendly, the rooms and beds clean and has a very well equiped kitchen. Its very evident they run a very organized operation. The place is definitely hard to find, if you think you are lost you probably are going the right way....

We booked the day of our arrival and they are very kind to accept it. It's a little bit the mess outside but the room was clean. The landlord drive us until the volcano because we had no car. Finally we decided to stay one night more but all rooms are already booked so the landlords open the second building...

We had a reservation, but on arrival we found that the first thing you see is a horrible run-down trashed out garage. The common area was horrendously dirty. The rooms and bathrooms were fair. We left. Not what you'd expect, and we got far better value elsewhere.

When we booked our stay here, we expected a cute little comfortable place. When we pulled up, that is NOT what we saw! You will think you are lost on a small, one way jungle road to no where but don't let this fool you. You are in the right place. This hostel is a family's (parents and a little...

We visited this "hostel" 10 years ago and thought it was a good value. But 10 years later, we found the front yard messy and unkempt, a pile of dirty laundryin the hallway right outside our room, the rooms smelled of mold, and the sheets and blankets were old and threadbare. Worse of all, the noisy water pump connected to...

I really liked this place. Don't be misled by the neglected and scruffy exterior. It's lovely inside: well kept and clean with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The shared kitchen is huge and is fully equiped. It has a big fridge and tons of usable surface. There is free coffee, sugar and some stuff that other previous guests may have...

Good value but you have to pay 3 dollars for a load of wash, no soap. Coffee is free but be aware that there is a lock out from 11am to 4:30 pm. Nights can get cool. The location is near the Volcano. You can bring your food and your food in the kitchen.

I chose this family run hostel for the great location (about 5 minutes from the Volcano national park) and also as a good value for money. Maybe it can be a bit difficult to find the hostel as it is hidden in the tine street just next to the Japanese school. Even thought the hostel looks a bit run down...

We picked this hostel for its location so that we could stay closer to the park. We weren't expecting much except for a place to sleep and eat. However, this hostel was so charming that I left with a strong impression. The building was built by the Japanese owner and you can see that he put a lot of love...
