We spent one night at the Volcano Inn when we visited the volcano national park a week ago. We were amazed at how nice this inn was! We had the "Volcano" room, which was at the main location but a short drive away. It's a room on the second floor of the building which has a first floor unit as...

This hotel (or inn) is absolutely amazing! My wife and I had a corner window room for two nights. The room itself is quite small with a queen bed and a decent sized bathroom. Certainly not a luxury room but the location and setting are absolutely wonderful and completely worth the price. The windows are huge with a view of...

Ask for the large standard "MAUNA kEA" room or comparable. On the top floor - loads of windows. Only downside is that there is no mini-fridge. The crater room is on the first floor and is more of a dorm room - don't accept it as a substitute for a large standard room. It is more of a family room...

A wonderful getaway near the Volcano! The Volcano Inn is our place of choice when we visit Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and the place we recommend to friends who visit us on The Big Island. Reasonably priced, spartan clean, super friendly, and exceedingly well maintained, this is a little "peace" of paradise where we have returned for over twenty years....

Booked this property on-line, however did not know that the actual accommodations were off-site. Would have been better to be in the main building, however the website does not specify that 9 rooms are off-site and across the highway which was a bit disappointing. Nice room, very clean, private entry with parking space. Papaya and banana bread in the morning...

Volcano Inn's original location is only two blocks across the highway from our newer office location where guests check in. The original Volcano Inn location is where all of our most popular and premier rooms are located. Beautifully tucked into natural rain forest, the units have been attentively landscaped back to the native Hawaiian flora and fauna, and are more...

We stayed in a Family Room with great big corner windows overlooking the lush rainforest. It was a bit cozy for 5 people and the pull out couch mattress was very thin and firm, but it felt like we were living in a tree house. The most relaxing experience was using their hot tub (open 24hrs) at night while listening...

We have stayed here before, love the setting. It is close to the park, and this year there is an excellent Thai food truck right next-door. The papaya float, banana bread, breakfast is good. If we stay here again, I would not stay in a downstairs room as it is noisy from plumbing, and the upstairs dining room walkers. Request...

Booked the corner room and the room is beautiful, during day and at night. It's not a separate cottage but you don't hear your neighbors. It's nice and has jacuzzi outdoor! 10 minutes drive to the Volcano national park. The elder owner is very friendly while the middle aged guy is a bit absent-minded. The only drawback is it's far...

Convenient location near Volcano National Park. The rooms are great. The owners are extremely nice, but some of the staff are a little cold and unwelcoming. Would stay here again. To the person who complained about the damp and musky smell -- Yes all the rooms are damp and have a musky smell. That's the nature of the beast for...
