We stayed in two different rooms during our stay here. The first one was spacious and had a fireplace and was right next to the hot tub. It was located across the street from the main area so was very quiet and private. The decor...More

Thank you for taking the time to review Volcano Inn! We do our best to keep things as clean as possible, thank you for noticing. Our free breakfast may get a little repetitive if you are here for a long stay. I will look...More
We stayed here one night after a day of hiking in the Park. The staff was friendly and the room was clean and equipped with plenty of towels. The setting was quaint with plenty of foliage so you know you are in a rainforest. I...More
Stayed in one of the corner rooms. delightful rain forest locale. Rooms clean and were provided with all the necessary amenities. Breakfast was a mango boat with banana bread. Both well done. Quirky, affordable Hawaiian eco-cool establishment. Get there in daylight as unusual arrangement of...More
We stayed here in January for five nights. Their policy is: the longer you stay, the less you pay (per night). This worked to our advantage. I rained almost the entire time we were there. (Not the hotel's fault). Even though the pathways to the...More

Please understand that this is a "Mom and Pop" establishment and that credit card payments actually cost the proprietor money (a percent or two depending on the type of card). This is just one way the Volcano Inn keeps its prices down. This is a small establishment and I would bet they could not afford last minute cancellations (like big hotels can do because they have lots of rooms and are rarely completely full). I have tried many places to stay in Volcano and the Volcano Inn is far above all places that are less expensive as well as several of the more expensive places. I stay at Volcano Inn two the five times a year and have for the past five years. I like to book ahead (and send in my payment) to be sure I can stay there - it is that great! Plus, I like to give business to locals. For its price, the Volcano Inn is the very best bet. They are always very helpful and polite on the phone so if you had a problem with mailing your check from another country you could explain this to them and I bet they would keep your reservation and wait for your check.
