Joan the owner is AMAZING! I'm a former B&B owner and have a deep respect for the hard work it takes to give every guest. We drove by this charming B&B and couldn't help but stay when we saw the place. Joan was super friendly and accommodating by accepting us without reservations. We stayed in the Cowboy room where she... More

Joan the owner was so rude. for someone running a B&B i WOULD expect a little more respect. There was a super friendly lady who was working there I wish I would have gotten her name, but seriously that doesn't even matter because Joan ruined the whole experience for me the second i met her. Contacted the owner about 15... More

This B&B seems like an old farm house, but was originally a summer house for a Hilo family. The rooms have been subdivided into bedrooms run by a nice lady, Joan. Joan is nearly self sufficient and makes or raises some of the food she serves. The room is not air conditioned, but we didn't find that a problem as... More

We've stayed two nights and enjoyed the location and the nice park like setting. The room was a bit dated and not very well maintained. A good handyman could make it really nice. The TV could be removed and put into a museum, that's how old it is. The room was clean and so was the bathroom. The breakfast was... More

I'll start off by saying, we knew going into this it might not be our favorite place just based on personal preferences. They were one of the few lodging options that would allow a late check-in though, which we required. My friend who booked the room tried to confirm with the owner the week leading up to our trip via... More

Nice quiet sleep. This little bed and breakfast place offers quiet asylum from the bustling tourism in Hawaii. The owner and caretaker are some of the nicest people we've met on our trip. The bed and breakfast is 100 percent self sufficient with its own farm in the backyard. These people really care for the island. Each room has a... More

Stayed in the Ali room, restroom looked like it was just remodeled. Breakfast was good, enjoyed the fresh fruit and oatmeal. Cobwebs on the windows. No AC, the fan in our room only worked when the lights were on.

My husband and I stayed there for 1 night, overall it's a good place to stay for a short period. I'm not sure I would want to stay for longer though, because as we entered the Paniolo room, it has some moldy smell although all windows were half opened. They have screens that they put under the opened windows so... More

A quiet B&B...only stayed one night but it was what I was looking for. About an 1 1/2 drive from Hilo Airport. Fifteen minutes from the entrance to Volcano National Park. The breakfast was ONLY fruit so be prepared to eat more elsewhere if you have activities nearby. Sorta cluttered in it's layout but good enough for my friend and... More

We stayed at the Aloha Hapoy Place last night, and enjoyed it! This is a bed and breakfast that is very convenient to Volcanoes National Park. It is very tastefully and interestingly decorated in a cottage style. Our stay was very comfortable, and everything we needed was provided, including a very nice continental breakfast. The B&B is on a farm,... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This is NOT your regular Joe B&B; actually it isn't a B&B at all, but a farmstead accommodaton. It offers everything you'd expect at a three star hotel and more for a fraction of the cost. Our location is key for planning your perfect stay while visiting the Big Island. We are located a short drive from Hilo International Airport and just minutes from the most active (and safest) volcano in the world. Kilauea is situated at the 4,000 foot elevation amidst lush tropical rainforest where you can escape the heat and crowds of the fast paced city life.
