We were delighted by the aesthetics and the attention to detail of this delightful little artist's cottage. It was the perfect little quiet hideaway, surrounded by a lovely garden, away from the road, and as restful as it's photos suggest. In the small living area is a comfy chair and kitchen table with two chairs. The window displayed a magnificent...

We stayed here Saturday night for our anniversary and were so pleased with the cottage and gardens. It's a tiny and cozy little cottage decorated simply and tastefully but has everything you would need even for a longer stay, fully equipped kitchen, a beautiful big bathroom and tons of books if you are a reader. The owners don't live on...

We stayed there for four nights and really liked it. Great location to explore the volcanoes national park and south east of the island. Great host, super team, exceptionally great garden, hot tub and cool cottage.

Very charming little cottage, perfect for a couple looking for calm and serenity. After the little café closes, the beautiful zen & art garden is all yours. And when it get's dark, a very romantic lighted path leads you to the bath tub. Highly recommended!

I wish I could give this cottage a higher rating because Ira, the owner, is such a delightful person. But the cottage is so small that it was not a pleasant place to stay, in my subjective opinion. The bed is pushed sideways into an alcove, so one person has to climb over the other to get out during the...

We stayed here three nights with our one-year-old son and loved everything about it. It definitely is small and slightly rustic, but we are a cozy small family (our son slept on a futon on the floor) who enjoy cozy small spaces. Artistic design touches everywhere in and around the cottage and gardens. It's unassuming and definitely not a luxury...

if you like cozy little spaces, this is for you. if you like wide open huge rooms, this is not for you. We loved it. Super cute, unprepossessing. The hot tube was heavenly. also features a cute little kitchenette. Drawbacks: shower pressure is low (but sufficient if you have chin length hair), quite small, only one chair to relax in....

We stayed here for one night while visiting Volcanoes National Park. The cottage is cute but dated. While the bathroom has been recently added, the water pressure for the shower is disappointing. Similarly the hot tub is on its last legs. On the plus side, this cottage is very private and pleasant. You have a little kitchen, a nice heater...

Recently, my husband and I stayed at "The Artist Cottage" in Volcano Village while we visited nearby Volcano National Park on the big island of Hawaii. We were delighted with this charming and comfortable cottage surrounded by jungle flora and a unique garden decorated with lovely art collected by or created by the owner, Ira Ono who proved to be...

My husband and I stayed recently at Ira's amazing Artist Cottage for three nights. I cannot put into words what a wonderful, relaxing, experience we had. When we arrived were greeted with such enthusiam and warmth, you would think we were staying with family. We were shown to the cottage and had a mini tour of where to find all...
