A large, well appointed share house in the rain forest, 2mins from Volcano National Park and close to shops and cafes. We stayed in a very cute attic style double room on the top floor with a shared bathroom. There was only one other room on this floor so the shared facilities was not a problem. Large kitchen and dining...

This is a shared house but you book your own/private bedroom. There are 3 bathrooms so there was never a time when we had to wait for one. The kitchen is basic and functional. You share the refrigerator but it is large enough for several guests to share. Our room was clean and when we opened the windows, we could...

My family stayed at this place for two nights and we had a lot of fun! Great location, just one mile from the national park entrance and there are several nice restaurant to dine in. The price is unbeaten. The room was clean and cozy. The house was built in 1912, so it is full of story. Unlike staying in...

Benefits: 1) It is less than a 5 min drive to the national park. 2) Bed is comfortable. 3)They give you a map when you check in to the closest restaurants and general store. 4) You can use the group kitchen. Disadvantages: 1) You have to share 3 bathrooms for 18 people when at full capacity. When you are in...

We were a group of 4 (1 couple and 2 singles) - note that the beds are queen only, and can't be changed to seperate singles. Rooms 306 and 307 on the main floor were excellent. Beds very comfortable, but rather high if you are short. The only niggle is that although there are 3 bathrooms in the building, there...

Although the website is a bit ambiguous in regards to the fact that the actual property of our stay was located approximately 1mile from the main hotel, which is what the website photos depict....the actual accommodation could not be faulted. The proximity to Volcano National Park is excellent and easy to access especially if you have a rental car. The...

Good accomodation, lots of stairs to take the bags up. Didn't get offered coffee from the guy at reception so when we went to make it, didn't have any coffee, so make sure you buy it before you go to the property. Handy to the volcano's which are also great to see at night. 2 days here was enough to...

My wife and I were staying on the Kona side of the Big Island, but wanted to spend two days exploring Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. We booked and stayed at the Volcano Hale (part of the Chalet Kīluaea Collection), which is conveniently close to the Park. Our experience was a very positive one with access to a full kitchen, dining...

“Make sure you always lock your door when you're in your room-My fiance and I were walked in on twice while just hanging out in our room. The rooms are clearly marked, but people are nosy. It was a little unnerving. Just a doorhandle lock so I was a little worried about leaving some of our stuff in the room, but overall was a cozy little quiet place to stay the night. ”

“A fun experience renting a little room with bathroom next door. Great kitchen facilities in an old quaint and charming house. Very clean and quiet!!! Nicely decorated. Cozy too!! Easy to find and park. I would definitely stay again. Great little residential area too. Very clean bathroom and updated. Easy to find and parking is good. Large kitchen and room for friends at the large table. Great restaurants and three groceries nearby. Quick deli too at grocery nearby with fresh made sandwiches. Volcano park is a short drive away. We enjoyed our time in this little village very much and survived a storm warning with no problem. A great place to meet other travelers too. Thai restaurant up the street. If you cook inside the house you do need to clean up after yourself. There is a refrigerator that you can keep food cold while you're there. Nice grounds too. You will be surprised to see how beautiful the area is. We would definitely stay again. We checked in in one location and stayed in another. We felt safe and assured that all would go well. You will get a good rest here after a day and evening at the volcanic park. Such an amazing sight. Much more than black rock there as it's located in a beautiful tropical forest. You'll enjoy these nice home stays for sure. Friendly staff and very helpful. ”
