This place was perfectly located near Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park. We stayed in the Hapu`u Forest Bungalow which has it's own private trail. The room has large windows with views on the rainforest which is wonderful, a private jaccuzzi that looks like a volcano and a nice outdoor area with a gas chimenea to enjoy the evenings. It's clean and...

Aloha and mahalo for taking the time to review the Chalet Kilauea Hotel on Tripadvisor. We are glad to hear that you had a great stay with us and enjoyed the Hapuu Bungalow. It's great that you were able to enjoy the volcano jacuzzi and also to be able to explore the nearby Volcanoes National Park. We hope you had...

My husband and I stayed in the Koa room for 2 nights on our honeymoon. We couldn't have been happier with our stay! We had originally booked a cheaper and smaller room, but since it was our honeymoon they upgraded us for a very cheap price!! The man at the front desk was so sweet and helpful and always fun...

Recreate a magical environment is never easy. The location, the small pond and the Asian garden style create a special atmosphere. Unfortunately, if you evaluate everything, and mainly the structure we see that it is dated, but all very nice. The bathroom makes you live a dream, while the balcony makes you immediately aware of the mediocrity of the structure....

Stayed overnight in the Garden Room. Surprised at its privacy and spaciousness. It felt like a small apartment. There was a little alcove area that had a mini kitchen and dining area of sorts. Microwave. Mini fridge. Sink. Dinner ware. Cutlery. Coffee maker and mugs. Drinking glasses, including wine glasses and a corkscrew. The bathroom was huge with a large...

My last few nights on the Big Island were spent in the "Bamboo Room." It was everything I could have imagined - and more! It had state-of-the-art furnishings/appliances & novel "bamboo-themed" touches throughout. The shower for 2 was amazing! The expansive windows looking out over the koi pond & gardens held a magical view and the 24 hr. jacuzzi perched...

While this is no Four Seasons, it was perfect for our Volcano visit. We stayed in the Bamboo Room. The remodel work is nice and the room is spacious. We got up at 3:30 AM to visit the crater so being close was invaluable. Additionally, the Chalet's grounds are quiet and peaceful.

Our two night stay was at the Hale House, Malia Room, not the main lodge. Hale House is sort of isolated and kind of in the middle of nowhere. We wanted to stay in the area so we could explore Volcano National Park so we only needed a place to sleep. That is exactly what we got. The Malia room...

My wife and I were greeted with tropical foliage and a gurgling koi pond. Lush path winded through the grounds. We rented the Garden Room and we struck by its charm and luxury for such a remote location. Great garden patio/lanai. We would've stayed two nights but it was already booked. Love this place. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed two nights in April 2015 in the Bamboo room, having found it on Tripadvisor. It was perfect for what we needed. I think we may have had the nicest room although we didn't see them all. The room is new and actually not listed on their website. They were in the process of creating a newer room that...
