We were two couples spending three nights at this B&B. It was my third time, first was in 1984, second ten years ago, and now again. It has come a long way from the first unit, still lovely, which is underneath the main house. Now there are stand-alone units which are fully equiped, modern and tasttefully decorated. You have privacy,...

We didn't actually get to travel as expected. However, Kathy was extremely gracious and friendly in dealing both with our reservation and our cancellation. We WILL be heading for Kauai in the future, and Kakalina's will be our first choice for accomodations.

Kakalina's was a great retreat on Kauai. No, it is not next to the ocean, and no, it is not a 5-star hotel. But, we didn't expect either. What completely exceeded our expectations was how gracious and kind the owner (Kathy) was. Each day, she filled our refrigerator with wonderful homemade bread, fresh fruit, and orange juice. She was very...

This was our third trip to the island but the first stay at Kakalinas. Our first two trips were spent near Poipu but Kapa'a is logistically the best place to stay if you want to explore the entire island. We love bed and breakfast locations and this one was perfect for us and the two couples who accompanied us for...

Not your typical B&B - Condos are very private, fairly clean, near reservoir. Breakfast is a real treat. Each day our basket was brim filled with many home grown tropical fruits. Fresh squeezed tangerine juice and fresh cut pineapple in the fridge with other goodies. Homemade blueberry or banana bread...yum! Flower farms were great to walk, we took many photos....

We booked this B&B based on the Travel Channel's review. When we arrived we were shocked! The place has no curb appeal at all, is far from anything, especially the beach ( the ocean view is is sliver of ocean in the distance). The room was not as clean as it could have been and the bed was very hard. We...

We booked the Hale 'Elua Studio at Kakalina's for a week long stay. The property itself is located in a rather pleasant rural, rustic setting, about a 20 minute drive from Kapaa. The studio was clean but small, really suitable for only one person. The queen sized bed's mattress was uncomfortably firm to sleep on, with only about a foot...

B&B: We stayed in Hale Kolu. Really good, very clean. I saw what one reviewer said about fleas. We had some harmless ants (keep in mind, it's located on a garden on an island, you're bound to get some bugs) but we just carefully sealed any food as soon as soon it was open and it was fine afterwards. The...

We stayed in what was more like a private duplex for a bed and breakfast rate - it was amazing! Bedroom with plush, top of the line linens, full kitchen stocked with anything you would need, living room with tv/vcr/dvd, books, magazines. There were even beach supplies available - chairs, mats, coolers, etc... Breakfast was fresh breads and fruits picked...

I booked a room with Kakalina's based on the glowing reviews on trip advisor. When this was confirmed in April, I was informed that there was a 14 day cancellation policy. There was nothing on their website or in literature I received stipulating this policy. The first part of July, I called and cancelled the reservation due to scheduling problems....

“We stayed in the suite attached to the main house. It was large and very comfortable, with a small fridge and microwave. Kathy also provided us a small hotplate and toaster oven. There are rooms available that have full kitchens closer to the road at the start of the driveway.”
