We stayed at Islander on the Beach for 6 nights and appreciated the quiet ambiance. It is an older property, but well maintained and a great value. We loved having on-site laundry facilities. It isn't practical to walk into town, so you'll have to drive to get to most of the restaurants. Like the other hotels in Kapa'a, the sandy...

We got an amazing 48hr internet deal on this hotel so we splurged and went with the oceanfront room (we were also on our honeymoon). The room was actually perfect, 20ft from the beach! The room was nice, good little kitchenette - microwave, decent fridge and coffee maker, all the dishes/cutlery we needed. Good size bathroom too! Good points: free...

Centrally located for trips to North Shore/End of Road and West Shore/Waimea Canyon. Beautifully landscaped and grounds well-maintained. Friendly and helpful staff. Smallish room, but more than adequate for my husband and me. Tiny kitchenette, but quite serviceable for our stay. Quiet; only heard rooster once on the property. Our ocean front room had gorgeous views! Private lanais, i.e. private...

My wife and I stayed here at the Islander on the Beach for our honeymoon. The room we stayed in was small, on the ground floor, but with a decent ocean view. The size of the room was only mildly disappointing but ultimately did not matter, because we were never spending much time in it anyway. The bathroom was very...

My wife and I stayed from Sept 3 to Oct 1. Not one bad thing to report. I guess depending on what your personal expectations are, you might want to look at the Princeville area. We met many new friends, both local and travellers while we were there. Location excellent and many restaurants are within a 10 minute walk. Parking...

My wife and I vacationed in Kauai in Sept. for her 30th birthday!! Stayed at the Islander on the Beach and were very happy! The staff at front desk was very helpful at getting around the island and giving great suggestions on where to eat! It was in a central location I thought to being able to get to any...

Booked the Aston thru Orbitz along with flight and rental car. Great value, and a nice place too. The grounds where well kept, the room was perfect for 3 adults. It was great to have the fridge and microwave, and BBQ out by the pool. Since we didn't eat out a lot. Used the laundry too and the Coconut Market...

My girlfriend just stayed here after some last minute booking difficulties required us to re-locate here. This appeared to have been built 20, maybe 30, years ago and has been moderately maintained. Unfortunately, they don't expend much effort on maintaining the beach as it was strewn with driftwood making lounging not really worthwhile. However, the people working here were very...

Just returned from a week at the Islander. We did not have high expectations, since reviews here were mixed, but decided to book because of the great flight+hotel package offered on Expedia. Honestly, for the price this hotel is Fabulous. We were upgraded to an ocean front room, which offered us a front row seat to the beautiful sunrises each...

Stayed six nights in September without any problems. The oceanview was great, but my room was on the third floor and there aren't any elevators. I had to lug my Iuggage up three flights of stairs. Not a big deal. I'll just have to pack lighter next time! Parking wasn't too bad. I only had to get a parking pass...
