This is a great location if you want to travel the island as we did. Central to all roads. About the same travel time to the last points in all directions. Everyone was very friendly, happy to talk, good advice. BUT NOT THE FRONT DESK LADIES. Someone must have told them not to smile. I got one to smile for...

Staff is extremely nice and helpful, and always had a smile on their face, which made me feel welcome. Kapa'a is a heavily populated area so you may come across some "traffic", but it was never backed up too badly during our one week stay. If you're looking for child-friendly beachfront, this is not your resort. It's windy in this...

We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was perfect! We stayed in b208 which we found on vrbo and the owner Bryan was amazing! Even provided snorkel gear and beach towels and umbrella with the condo! It was perfect for couples as well as family because of the two rooms and bunk beds for the kids. It's centrally located...

For our trip to Kauai we wanted to be near a town (in this case Kapa'a), so that narrowed our options for hotels. We chose the Pono Kai mostly for this reason, as we are not very interested in the usual Hawaiian resort hotels (we don't golf, use spas, etc.) The Pono Kai was a great option for us. It...

This is a nice property, well maintained with lovely grounds. The unit we stayed in (E104) was a one-bedroom ground floor with a full kitchen and living room, which opened onto a lanai with a partial ocean view. There was no partial ocean view from the rooms. This was was not a renovated unit, but it was good enough. I...

Upon check in which is strictly at 4pm I explained to the desk that I had sent two emails to Pono Kai over the last 6 months asking if they could provide information on the location of the unit I would be staying. I never received an answer to either emails. I was told that they "normally" responded to emails...

I am a bluegreen owner, and this is one of their properties available. I have stayed here three times, and each has been different. This time they were working on the seawall (which they did not reveal on booking) - so the construction noise really messed things up - especially the singing bowls/meditation hour on the grounds we had paid...

This is not a fancy resort type of property. However, it is clean, the staff is helpful, and it has a pretty good location. Driving to the north shore to Princeville or Hanalei is about 30 minutes. Driving to Lihue or the airport is pretty close too. The traffic can be bad during "rush hour" since it is a 2...

This is the perfect Kapa'a, Kauai small condominium resort on the ocean and on the multi use walking/bike path! Pono Kai is quiet, yet full of fun things like the pool and spa. Tennis courts, workout room, shuffle board, croquet, putting green, and more... The resort is right on the edge of Old Kapa'a Town. Walk to restaurants, boutiques, shopping,...

My husband and I stayed there for our honeymoon. The check in process was simple and the ladies at the front desk were very helpful when checking in. The original room we received was a handicap room and didn't have a full shower. We requested to change and they were more than willing to help us find a room that...
