The hotel was OK but for the price I would expect much more. On top of that, all restaurants were completely booked in advance and not having a place you can enjoy dinner without planning ahead was annoying

I don’t usually go to resorts (I prefer Airbnbs; I never quite feel like I fit in at fancy places) but I desperately needed some peace and relaxation and this resort delivered in spades. I never felt out of place here. As a Hyatt Explorist I received an amazing room upgrade to an ocean view. I am pretty sure I gasped when I walked into my room. All I could hear was the ocean which was just what I needed. Well appointed room with really nice bath products and sparkling clean bathroom. Lovely lanai and plenty of lighting. I loved the room location near the spa and fitness center and rocky/cliff side of the beach. Speaking of the beach! Other reviews are not exaggerating when they say you can’t swim this beach. I loved the roaring waves though and exploring the tidepools. Sitting on the beach relaxing was great with or without a chair. The swinging chairs were an awesome treat. Great walking/jogging path right along the beach edge. Now the pools… I didn’t think I would care about them as a solo traveler but I had a blast trying them all out. The lazy River was so relaxing and I just floated around the salt lagoon and had the whole thing to myself. There was music drifting through the early evenings and everything smelled incredible. Housekeeping was stellar. Tom at the concierge helped me find a last minute snorkeling tour (Z tours was laid-back and well priced). Anthony at Water Wear was very gracious. All staff were welcoming and truly stopped to listen. I obviously loved my stay. The only two “issues” were the price and the food. I could only afford to come here thanks to Hyatt’s generous loyalty program. It was also impossible to get reservations in the resort and it’s pretty isolated off you don’t have a car but I had great food from the pool area and tasty treats and breakfast from the gift shop and the terrace (no reservations required). Next time I come back with family I will try to use a Club award because it seems like it’s probably worth it to get everyone breakfast and snacks. Basically, if you can afford it I can’t recommend this resort enough!

Can’t say it enough… the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa is by far one of my favorite places to stay. There is no comparison on the island for the amount of amenities you have at this hotel. If you let wanting ALL INCLUSIVENESS. This is it!!!! Look no further. The beds make you wanna melt into them. Honestly I need those pillows in my life!! And the pools are 24hrs. Can be a bit pricey but definitely worth it!

We have young child, the this resort was exactly what we needed. Plenty of activities on property to keep everyone entertained. Great staff helped us everywhere around the resort. Everyone was very mindful of COVId protocol without having to be constantly reminded.

The hotel grounds are spectacular. The architecture and decor are old hawaiian. There are waterways running throughout the resort. The only reason for not being five star is that the food is very expensive and bad.
