The grounds are very nice, right on the beach next to Poipu beach park. Rooms are above average, but ours (standard garden view) had nothing particularly amazing about it. What sets this hotel apart is the absolutely first class service of the staff. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we felt that all our needs were...

We just returned from a 4 night stay at the Ko'a Kea and absolutely loved it. From the moment we pulled up, I could see that the service was going to be wonderful. The valets are not some kid who just parks your car. They are knowledgable professionals who are committed to helping you have a great time on the...

We stayed here over Christmas 2012 and overall were happy with the hotel, although at this time of year it was certainly very expensive. The food and service were very good and the room was pleasant with a sea view and private balcony. However, somehow this hotel does not quite have the true Hawaiian feel for several reasons: The main...

Last few days of our honeymoon after a more adventurous week and a half on the north shore. The Koa Kea is beautiful, spotless, peaceful. Walk around the corner to the Sheraton and you will find crowded lawns and screaming kids. The Koa Kea is the quiet, grown-up hotel next door. Our servers in Red Salt were amazing - so...

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Koa Kea for a week and we couldn't stop exclaiming over how great the place was. The grounds were very pretty and very well kept. We enjoyed the hot tub every night, which was great because the weather was a little wet and windy some nights. The hot tub was large. There was...

We have done our fair share of travelling, and seem to always base our opinions of our accommodations largely on quality of staff. We were surrounded by authentically happy, helpful employees here. A beautiful setting right on the water, we kept our windows open at night to sleep by the sounds of the surf. The restaurant, Red Salt, is very...

We spent our honeymoon there in June 2012. We got a deal off the website and got our room for $298 per night! We were there for a whole week. The hotel has one of the top restaurants in the area, wonderful food. Service was very good, staff was very friendly and helpful. It is also a convenient location for...

Just a wonderful hotel. EVERYONE was so personable and genuine. The breakfast buffet is definitely worth it--and they serve until 11:00 AM. Rooms are good sized and even the garden view rooms were great. Not a huge hotel--which to us is very appealing. The only thing that bothered us is that the hotel is not really on the beach--next to...

I have not yet experienced the Koa Kea however I am very familiar with its fantastic location as I stayed right next door many times in the late 80's and early 90's. Most who write on here are likely not aware that this was once the site of the Poipu Beach Hotel, which was a small, fairly inexpensive hotel for...
