I visited Whalers Cove twice this summer, once in June and then in September. I loved it so much I decided to return! The property is stunning, tucked away in a quiet residential and oceanfront location in Koloa (Poipu area). The condo's are large and beautiful and are oceanfront or have splendid ocean views. These truly are luxury condos. The value you receive by staying at Whaler's Cove far outweighs staying in a small hotel room for the same price at the local oceanfront hotels. The pool area is quiet and empty on most occasions. If you want action and entertainment for yourself or your small children, a hotel might be a better option as this is peaceful, quiet, and non-stimulating, well except for the beautiful ocean views and sounds! The office staff is lovely and helpful and we spoke many times to the grounds crew who maintain the property meticulously. Really, if you are outgoing with the staff, they feel like friends or family. You can walk or drive to Kukui'ula which is an outdoor shopping and eating area where many of the top restaurants are located. Don't be fearful of going to Kauai even though the governor is suggesting to not visit Hawaii. I'm a bit of a rebel and didn't let the "suggestion" from the gov deter me. Once you go through the safe travels process online and arrive in Kauai, it feels mostly normal. It's all the things we are used to on the mainland, wearing masks indoors, distancing, etc. It in no way dampened our enjoyment. You don't need to wear a mask at the beach or outdoors walking or running. Just be sure to make car rental and restaurant reservations in advance. If you can't find a car through a rental car company, use Turo. Go to Kauai and stay at Whaler's Cove, you will be thrilled!

My husband and I have been going to Whaler's Cove for a number of years to escape the extreme heat of our desert home during the month of August. It is a beautiful, well maintained, quiet property that provides the perfect relaxing escape. The grounds are beautiful. It is well situated for our early morning walks and a short walk to Kukui'ula for shopping, great meals, a wonderful weekly farmers' market and the occasional evening ice cream run. The staff is exceptional and go above and beyond to make our stay the perfect vacation retreat. The pool is never crowded and provides a great relaxing, quiet and restful oasis after a day of exploring this beautiful island. One of my favorite things is falling asleep in a room cooled by ocean breezes and listening to the nighttime quiet and the steady calm beat of the waves. We have stayed at a number of resort properties over the years and this is by far the very best.

Great location, short walk to Lawai beach for snorkeling, short walk to The Shops at Kukui‘ula for good eats and shopping needs. Don't forget to hit up 'Da Crack' for a fish taco! We had an ocean front condo and were able to see turtles and dolphin from our balcony almost every day (wrong time of year for whales but I'm sure you'd see quite a few if you're there in February) The grounds and pool area at Whaler's Cove are very well tended by grounds staff. Everything looks great. Check in was super easy, popped in the office as we arrived to say Aloha and were directed where to go from there. The rooms in the condo were LARGE as well as our balcony. Could not have asked for more. Mahalo Marianne, we had a very nice, relaxing stay!

We have been coming to Kauai since 1980 and for the last two decades we have stayed at Whalers Cove and have never been disappointed. The views are second to none and the condos(especially units #117 and #124) are comfortable recently remodeled and just beautiful. I emphasize again the views are the best and we have stayed at many places on the island. The staff especially the General Manager Marianne Martin and Eileen treat us like family. I highly recommend staying at Whalers Cove to anyone coming to Kauai. Simply the best place on the island.

Whaler's Cove is a wonderful boutique property, away from the busy roads and traffic noise. My unit is x212 and everything about it is wonderful. The view is fantastic (photos below). The master bath and living room were recently renovated. The master bed is wonderfully firm. I enjoy going to sleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean. I have stayed at Whaler's Cove many times over the last 20 years. During Covid, check-in is contactless: I was told in advance which condo I would be in. I parked (parking is free and close) and walked in to the unlocked condo. The lights and TV were on. Everything was ready to go. The refrigerator could have been pre-stocked if I had wanted. All of the units have a terrific view and all are ocean front. The staff go out of their way to accommodate their guests. I booked through the on-site management company. I can't speak for the off-site rental managers.
